L ingering odours can taint a customer’s experience — providing a negative view of an establishment or business as a whole. A crucial step in tackling malodours and customer-approved cleanliness is selecting the appropriate odour control

products and implementing proper cleaning procedures. Urine has a pH between 5 and 7. As it dries, the pH increases because urea becomes more concentrated. Since it’s mainly urea, it would become an alkaline solution if solubilized in water with a pH range of 8-10. This chemical change can take a toll on your flooring and furnishings. Once dried, the alkaline goes to work. The more moisture it absorbs, the more of the ammonia based urine odour is released, causing odour problems and stains in the affected areas which can be difficult to remove.

Other odours, caused by pet, skunk, smoke, tobacco, bodily fluids, mold, mildew and damp odours are just as problematic as they can affect people with allergies.
