Figure -1: Elevator System Control Box
The Motor Driven Elevator System is used to raise or lower the Seamer Upper Turret Housing for pinheight adjustment. The Elevator System Control Box (Figure-1) is pre-programmed by Pneumatic ScaleAngelus before the Seamer leaves the plant, and should not need any programming once the Seamer isinstalled. In the event that the Elevator settings are lost due to an unforseen occurrence, the Elevator settingwill need to be reprogrammed as follows.
Key SelectorSwitch
CAUTION: Do not operate the Elevator System manually with the Seamer Service Coverremoved, and the power turned off. Digital readings will no longer be correct.Manual adjustments of the Elevator system should be made only with the power on.

PROGRAMMING DUAL COUNTER DISPLAY UNIT
1. Loosen the two clamp screws on the Elevator Control Box Front Cover to opencover (Figure-1).
2. On the rear on the Dual Counter Display Unit (Figure-2) set the DIP Switches #1 and #8 down and #2 thru #7 up.
3. Remove the jumper wire from terminal 7 & 8.
Figure-2: Dual Counter Display Unit (Rear)
4. On the front of the Motor Driven Elevator system control box, move the keyselector to "Adjust" mode.
5. On the front side of the unit at the Dual Counter Display Unit (Figure-3), enterthe key in sequence (from left to right) as listed in (Table -1).

Table -1: Initial Program Setting
This program setting is done so that the Dual Counter Display Unit can interpet the UpperTurret Housing Encoder signal for correct positioning of the turret.
6. Determine if the display will read in inches or millimeters and program for one or theother as follows.
a. If the counter is to be displayed in inches, enter ( Table-2) key sequencefrom left to right.

NOTE: The decimal point automatically installs. Scale Factor numbers are keyed in usingthe keys directly above each digits place.
b. If the counter is to be displayed in millimeters, enter (Table-3) keysequence from left to right.

7. On the rear of the display unit, replace the jumper wire between terminal connection7 & 8. (This jumper wire prevents changes to the unit).
8. Measure the Seamer Pin Height using an inside micrometer.
9. Press the “1” button on the display unit.
10. Using the Key Pad on the display unit and enter in the measured value.
11. Press “E” and then “R” buttons on the display unit.
12. Close Front Cover and tighten the two clamp screws.
TO ADJUST UPPER TURRET HOUSING HEIGHT
CAUTION: Before raising or lowering the Upper Turret Housing, ensure that the Upper TurretColumns are checked and cleared for this process as damage to Elevator Systemmay occur.
Ensure Key Selector Switch is in the "Off" mode while workinginside Seamer to prevent unintentional movement.
1. On the Seamer, loosen the Upper Turret Hub Clamp (4S841) M10 screws.
2. Loosen the Upper Turret Hub Seal Clamp (31S817) M10 screws.
NOTE: When moving to shorter can heights, always go lower than the calculated pin heightand adjust moving upward. Always check the pin height using an insidemicrometer.

3. On the Elevator system control box, move the Key Selector Switch to "Adjust"mode.
NOTE: The Upper Turret Elevation changes can now be made while observing the display. If programmed for inches, the display will decrease or increase by .001 increments(metric = 0.01mm increments)
When making Upper Turret Height adjustments, if the maximum upperrange or lower range is reached, the UPPER LIMIT REACHED orLOWER LIMIT REACHED indicator will illuminate.
4. Use the Height Adjust Selector Switch (Figure- 4) to move the Upper TurretUp or Down. Use the Height Adjust Speed Potentiometer to control theelevation change speed.
5. Once the Upper Turret Housing is set to the desired height, move Key Selector Switchto "Run" mode.
6. Tighten the Upper Turret Hub Clamp screws and the Upper Turret Hub Seal Clampscrews.
