ELERMORE
ENDEAVOUR
Term 4 Week 7 24th November 2017
Principals Report
Every year time seems to move more quickly than the last, and this year is no exception. With only three weeks left of the 2017
school year, we are busily preparing to celebrate all of the many achievements of each and every student at our school.
Report writing is in full swing and preparations are well underway for our end of year formal assemblies.
Stage Assemblies and Family Picnic Day
Our Stage Assemblies will be held on Thursday, 7th December in our school hall. Parents and friends are welcome to come
along to watch as we recognise the achievements of all of our students from Preschool to Year 6. There will be performances
from many of our creative and performing arts groups throughout the day. Families are welcome to join us for a special picnic
lunch and an afternoon assembly featuring Christmas carols and performances by our band and choir. I have heard that there
is an extra special, one time only, performance that you do not want to miss!

Second Hand Uniforms
Many thanks to one of our fabulous parents, who has set up a Facebook page where families can buy, swap or sell
EVPS school uniforms. This is not a school-run page, however, I can see the benefits this will have to our school
community. Please follow the link below to access the site.

Preparations for 2018
As we prepare to finalise our classes for 2018, it would be appreciated if you could contact the school office if you will
not be requiring a position at EVPS in 2018. Similarly, if you know of any families seeking enrolment, could you ask them
to contact the school office.
Have a great week!

Newcastle Permanent Mathematics Competition
Congratulations to Stage 3 on completing the 2017 Newcastle Permanent Mathematics Competition. Over 50 students sat the
challenging Year 5 and Year 6 tests at the end of Term 3. The results have been fantastic, with over 30 merits and 7 distinctions
awarded. Special congratulations to Michael Cornally, who ranked 86th in NSW with approximately 10,000 entries and
achieved a high distinction. Michael has also been invited to attend a personalised mathematics camp, early 2018.
A fantastic effort by all students, you have done EVPS proud!
