About Warren Floyd
His original songs grace us with a much needed reminder of the humanity and grandness of
everyday life and have been featured on John McEuen’s Acoustic Traveller show on XM Satellite
Radio. He also covers rock and roll, folk - rock and a little country from the ‘50s, ‘60s, ‘70s, 80s and
‘90s. His stories, from watching Frankenstein on the late movie with Jimmy Buffett, coloring with
Dolly Parton and hanging out with Richie Havens, to exchanging letters with Doors’ singer/lyricist Jim
Morrison and touring with The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band are as entertaining as the songs they inspired
and prompted singer/songwriter Mare Lennon to quip “Warren is the Forrest Gump of Folk!”
Warren Floyd Bio
Warren Floyd discovered America on a Texas farm. By the age of twelve he was playing piano, guitar and saxophone, and singing in the church choir. Extra-curricular activities at North Texas State University included joining in on back stage jams with John Denver and Helen Reddy, and The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band at concerts he co-produced for the school.
In 1973 he began working with bands in Texas and Louisiana and he moved to Colorado in 1979. In the early ‘80’s he spent a few months each year touring with The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Chick Corea and The Little River Band working on the production crews as stage manager and lighting director.
In 1992 Warren performed for ten days in Hong Kong at The American Food Fair, sponsored by The U.S. Department of Agriculture.
From 1984-1986 Warren was co-producer of Cominatcha Live, the local cable television series which featured local and national artists. From 1986-1988 he was the operations manager of The Boulder Folk and Bluegrass Festival which featured local, national and international acts.

Warren, a former high school graduate (Our Lady of the Homecoming Queen), also plays bass, harmonica, kazoo, accordion, autoharp, washboard, ukulele and various implements of percussion.
Warren enjoys spending time in his recording studio, hiking, back packing and photography. Outside interests include fund raising projects to increase public awareness of the need to prohibit the senseless abuse brought on by the capture and training of parakeets as birds of prey.
