Electrical & Control Technician I/II/III Instructions for Application 1. There are a total of two positions available, each in a different department. The I, II and III-
level job descriptions for each department are attached. Please read the job descriptions thoroughly but DO NOT sign them. They are for reference only.
2. If you meet the Qualifications and Education Requirements, please fill out the application form entirely, including signing page 6. If you wish to attach a resume, you may. However, a resume will NOT be accepted in lieu of a completed job application. ADMINISTRATIVE LEAVE
Full-time, non-temporary middle management employees may be granted a
limited amount of administrative leave, as outlined in the Middle Managers
Bargaining Unit Memorandum of Understanding.
RETIREMENT
The retirement benefit is administered through the Kern County Employees’Retirement Association (KCERA). Full-time, non-temporary middle management employees hired prior to January 1, 2010 participate in the “3percent at 60” retirement plan (Tier I); employees hired on or after January
1, 2010 participate in the “1.62 percent at 65” retirement plan (Tier II).
Employees in either plan, if hired after August 22, 2004, pay 100 percent of the employee contribution for the duration of their employment with the Agency. The employee contribution rate for Tier I participants hired after August 22, 2004 is based on age at entry into the retirement system, and currently ranges between approximately 6 and 11 percent of gross base salary. The employee contribution rate for Tier II participants hired beforeJanuary 1, 2013 is based on age at entry into the retirement system, andcurrently ranges between approximately 4 and 9 percent of gross base salary. The employee contribution rate for Tier II participants hired on or after January 1, 2013 is a flat rate and is currently approximately 6 percent ofgross base salary.
