El Alfabeto

The first thing you learned in school was your ABCs. When we learn a new language, it is just as important to learn its alphabet so that reading and pronunciation become easier. In class, we have begun to learn about the alphabet. Now it is time for you to be the teacher!

Your assignment:

Create a Spanish Alphabet Dictionary for young children in grades PreK through 1. These are the requirements:

1. Title of Book– “El Alfabeto” 2. Each letter we learned must be included and have its own page.

a. On the page, you are going to put the letter sound.b. Under the letter and sound, you are to provide a picture of

TWO (2) SPANISH words that begins with that letter.i. This will require some research. A good website is the

Oxford Spanish Dictionary at http://www.wordreference.com/english_spanish_dictionary.asp

c. Use Microsoft Word to create the book. Bound it creatively. Have a great time with it!

Due Dates:

Your project will be broken into two parts:

Part 1 – A rough draft on loose leaf due Wednesday, October 6th.

On loose leaf, you will hand in the letter of the alphabet and the TWO SPANISH words you will be using. This is due on our next class. I will look over it and give it back to you through your homeroom teacher the following day.

Part 2 – The completed project meeting all the guidelines above due Wednesday, October 13th.

You will share your project with a younger grade as a way of introducing them into El Alfabeto!
