Around the World in Two Hours The United States thinks of itself as a “melting pot” of cultures, races, and religions. Perhaps more than any other profession, Realtors see that reality as they field housing-related questions from owners and prospective buyers around the planet. at’s why the Southland Regional Association of Realtors recently organized a two-hour multicultural mixer—to remind professionals that mulligatawny has curry flavors, “feng shui” is a serious tool in some Asian homes, and dance and music, friends and neighbors are more important for Latin and many other cultures than just the quality of a house. Understanding and being tolerant of other cultures often leads to a rewarding career and a happy life. Special thanks go out to a fantastic lineup of performers and entertainers, including: the North Valley Military Institute, All in One Band, Spanish dancers Jerek Hernandez and Juliana De La Roca, the new Filipino American Com- munity of L.A. Cultural Group, and the Goldie Constantian Group. Finally, we thank all the volunteers and spon- sors, listed below, who made this year’s mixer a global suc- cess!
