Action Creates MotivationBy: Shihan Craig Haley

This is one of the most powerful messages ever. Most people have an idea of what they want. Some people are vague but have a general direction, which is not the recipe for suc-cess. Others have very clearly defined goals and action plans. Those people will flourish because they have taken the right steps and have clarity.

CLARITY IS POWER AND POWER LEADS TO ACTION!

However, we all have those days when we wake and hit the snooze button 3,4,and even 5 times! We wake up tired, maybe we didn’t sleep well, or overall are just feeling lazy. On those days, it would be a lot easier to kick back on the couch or go back to bed.

Here’s the problem...many people will do just that!

Action creates motivation! When you take action first, the energy and emotion always follows. Tony Robbins says, “A body in motion will intensify your emotion.” Many times people don’t feel like coming to our nightly classes, but once they get there and start moving, they get mo-tivated and fired up. And after class they feel like a million bucks!

So sometimes when we are considering blow-ing off a particular project or task, we have to think about how we are going to feel after the project is complete and that will get us to get going in the first place.

The greatest compliment you can give your instructor is referring a friend or relative to our team.

John Williams is one of the most successful musical com-posers in movie history. He has written the scores for Jaws, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and Star Wars. He has been nomi-nated for 45 Academy Awards and won 5, plus he has won 4 Grammy Awards.

He said the key to his success is the daily discipline of writing every day. He doesn’t wait to get inspired. He

writes knowing the inspiration and mag-ic will follow. Some days he writes

masterpieces and other days his creations are just OK. But the

consistency of his writing ef-forts has lead to high lev-

els of success and he has touched the lives of mil-lions around the world.

Discipline weighs ounces but regret weighs tons! I have never regretted the

workout I did do, but I sure have regretted the workout I

didn’t do.

So next time you are feeling lazy and unmotivated, take action! Do the workout! Go

for a run. Start reading the book. Do something and

know that when you do you are building mo-mentum and creating an unstoppable ener-gy force that will lead you to success!

TRAIN HARD- WORK HARD- THE BEST IS YET TO COME!

2014 Lean & Mean Fit TipBy: Coach Mark Moore

EAT LIKE A SAMURAI

Hara hachi bu is a Japanese term that roughly translates to “eat until you’re 80% full.” Hara hachi bu is sound advice for many reasons. It takes your brain about 20 minutes to register how much your body has eaten, for instance, so stopping when you feel about 80% full means you’ll likely top off around 100%.

“Choice: it is always your next move.”-Napoleon Hill

Eating and stopping at 80% full is a powerful choice you have to improve your health, energy, and physique. As a Black Belt Champion in training you will notice one of the many benefits of martial arts is developing self-discipline in key areas of your life. Working out, eating properly, and living a peak per-former lifestyle takes lots of self-discipline. Just like doing exercises to build muscle. Every time you make a conscious choice to choose, “will this help me or hurt me” you will build your self-discipline muscles every time you make the right choice. As you make better choices more often it will get eas-ier and easier to lead a Black Belt Lifestyle!

“Victory is reserved for those who are willing to pay its price.”- Sun Tzu

As you prepare to battle the challenge of healthy eating in an unhealthy world remember to think and act like a Samurai Warrior. Eat light and always be ready to fight against any obstacle or challenge that comes your way!

TRAINING TIPS ON BECOMING A SAMURAI EATER!

• Eat Slow• Drink lots of water before a meal• Put down your utensils between bites• Set a minimum number of chews for every bite• Deliberately taste your food

Attitudes Are Contagious. How Contagious is Yours?By: Shihan Craig Haley, Elite Force Martial Arts

Have you ever noticed how some people are always smiling, happy, and generally bring out the best in everyone they are around? In the dojo, their positive attitude and enthusiasm spreads throughout a class. Everyone wants to train with them because they make them feel great and bring out the best in them.

Attitudes are caught before they are taught. Some people’s attitude brightens up the room when they walk in. Other peo-ple brighten up the room when they leave the building! Which person are you?

The best leaders lead by example and it all starts with their attitude. No one is perfect and is at 100% all the time physi-cally. However, your attitude can be at level 10 everyday with practice and consistent effort.

Elite leaders know one of their main goals should be to help other people. Having a positive and encouraging attitude is a great place to start. When you go out of your way to share your positive attitude, encourage others, and make people feel good, you are planting the seeds of greatness in them and helping them achieve their goals. The gift of a positive attitude is one of the best gifts you can give!

So what can you do to spread your positive attitude everyday?

1. Be a good-finder. Search for the great qualities in people and talk about them. Sometimes you have to look through a ton of dirt to find a little gold. Always look for the gold!

2. Work on your attitude for 15 minutes everyday. Read a book, watch a video, or hang out with somebody with a great attitude. When you put good stuff in, good stuff always comes out!

3. Look for opportunities to make a difference. When you see someone not having a great day or see someone who’s feeling discouraged, share your positive attitude and en-courage them. Be a builder of people! Always look to build them up never tear them down.
