status of an item • Specifically designed to be used by cultural heritage institutions and
aggregation platforms • Global approach to rights statements for broad set of institutions • Minimum baseline standard: clear for archives, clear for users • Relevant where Creative Commons tools and licenses cannot be used • Initiated by DPLA and Europeana • Europeana will start to apply 6 of the statements under in fall 2016
