The Alumina Quality Workshop began in 1988 as a forum to bring the world’s alumina producers and their customers together to exchange ideas and information around a common goal of improved product quality. The symposia have been held in Australia at an interval of three years. Over time, the workshop has evolved into a major international symposium, incorporating all aspects of the production of alumina from bauxite. In recognition of this evolution we have rebranded the conference name Alumina 2018.

The conference offers a unique opportunity to hear about the latest developments in alumina production and to network with other alumina producers, researchers and suppliers. The conference theme Efficiency for the Future reflects the current industry focus on cost reduction, optimisation of raw materials & energy use and the adoption of new technology. This continual drive for improved efficiency will ultimately result in a sustained and thriving alumina industry for the future.

The Conference is considered the premier conference “for the industry, by the industry”. The organising committee is creating a world-class program with excellent opportunities for networking and sharing knowledge with over 300 industry producers and suppliers from all over the world. The Alumina Quality Workshop began in 1988 as a forum to bring the world’s alumina producers and their customers together to exchange ideas and information around a common goal of improved product quality. Over time, the workshop has evolved into a major international symposium, covering all aspects of the production of alumina from bauxite, of which alumina quality remains an important aspect. The AQW symposia continue to be held in Australia at an interval of three years.

The Alumina Quality Workshop was incorporated in 1995. AQW (Inc.) is the association charged with the organisation and production of Alumina 2018, the 11th AQW International Conference. The AQW (Inc.) executive committee consists of representatives of each of the major Australian alumina producers, with the chair (and host) rotating for each conference.

Apart from the conference, AQW (Inc.) was constituted to undertake technical investigations, research and the promotion of tertiary education, in support of the future needs and betterment of the alumina refining and smelting industries. AQW (Inc.) is a non-profit organisation.

The Alumina 2018 Conference Organising Committee is seeking support from organisations to assist students to attend the Conference by sponsoring registrations. For each investment of $5,500 you could assist in up to 10 students attending the conference that may not normally have the opportunity to do so. Students would be required to complete an application and answer a set criteria of how they would gain from attendance at the conference. The Organising Committee would be responsible for the selection of students who are awarded these Student Scholarships upon review of the applications received.

EXHIBITION OPPORTUNITIESTo complement the technical program at the Alumina 2018 Conference, an industry exhibition will be held in conjunction with the Conference. The Welcome Reception, tea breaks and lunches will be served amongst the exhibition. These meals will be “stand-up” to allow delegates to move freely through the exhibition space at all times.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Exhibitor personnel passes do not grant access to the core Conference program, nor the Conference dinner.

Priority of placement within the exhibition will be sold in accordance with the date of application receipt.

The Organisers reserve the right to alter the floor plan or sponsorship/exhibition offerings as circumstances dictate.

An exhibition manual containing information on move in and out times will be distributed to exhibitors and sponsors in 2018.

All exhibitors must provide the Conference Secretariat with a copy of their public liability insurance certificate of currency, for a minimum cover of $20 million.

CONDITIONS OF PAYMENT

Sponsorship/Exhibition confirmation and a tax invoice will be sent upon receipt of your booking form.

Payment: 50% deposit is required within one month of receipt of the application form and the final 50% before 16 June 2018.

Failure to pay your sponsorship and exhibition invoice may result in your sponsorship item or exhibition stand being released for sale.

Please Note: All benefits will be extended subject to the time of confirmation of sponsorship. In some case deadlines may have expired and the benefits cannot be extended.
