Understanding how to use verbs in French can be very difficult

for students who are used to how verbs and tenses are formed in

English. In French, regular verbs are classified into three

different groups which are called ER, IR and RE groups of verbs.

Depending on the group the verbs fall into the steps to follow

will be slightly different because the ending to apply will be

different.

We will now show you the different steps to follow for each of

the three groups of verbs.
