Emotional intelligence consists of two dimensions:
Intrapersonal intelligence
Interpersonal intelligence
(Palethorpe, 2006: p13)

in which the norms build emotional capacity (the
ability to respond constructively in emotionally
uncomfortable situations) and influence emotions in
constructive ways” (Druskat and Wolff, 2001: p. 82).

1) What different forms of conflict are there?
2) How does ‘relationship conflict’ impact on employees’ perception of their team tasks?
3) Identify the actions management can take to improve team conflict.
