IN THIS YEAR OF PRAYER, we are dedicating our entire Momentum 2018 conference to challenge and equip God’s people to delve deeper into prayer—intimacy wth God and intercession for the nation. The theme is H.O.P.E. Houses of Prayer Everywhere! It begins with each one of us. As Charles Wesley wrote: Make my heart a house of prayer. When each heart comes alive in prayer, Singapore will soon be saturated with Houses of Prayer Everywhere!

Keynote Speaker: Suzette Hattingh

South African evangelist Suzette Hattingh began her ministry by praying for Reinhard Bonnke’s huge campaigns in Africa. She witnessed Bonnke’s African campaigns grow from thousands to hundreds of thousands to millions in attendance. A key to the success was Hatting’s intercession ministry. Hear her speak at Momentum 2018 and catch the fire to pray for revival for Singapore.

NAME CHANGE TO BETHESDA CARE SERVICES

Since our inception in 1996, Bethesda Care and Counselling Services Centre (BCCSC) has come a long way. With changing national social trends and consequently the social service sector, we have evolved and grown to stay relevant to the needs of the community.

As a reflection of our evolution to where we are today, we will hence forth be known as Bethesda Care Services (BCS). This new name epitomises our single minded focus to go beyond simply just providing a service, but to care for all that we are serving.

Donations and cheques can now be made out to “Bethesda Care Services”. In alignment with the name change, we will also be launching a new logo and a new website to reflect our relevance as a modern social service organisation. Stay tuned for more details.

Having mentioned all these changes, one thing remains the same. Our commitment to care for the community, to reach out and touch lives. We look forward to your partnership as we continue on this journey together.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

BAPTISM & THE LORD’S SUPPER In BBTC, baptism are conducted from youth upwards. We do so on the premise of the age of accountability where the person knows & understands the implications of such decisions. Hence based on the same principle, parents are advised not to allow their children to partake the Lord’s Supper.

TESTIMONY BY ALICE NG

At the mid-week fellowship, I learnt some insights of the birth of Jesus from the sermon by Ps Daniel Koh that I did not know previously.

When I returned home, my friend Jo called me and I shared with her about those truths that I have received. I also shared with her that God promises us three things when we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour - We will receive a gift (eternal life), an inheritance (the earth) and a crown (based on works).

After sharing all these promises, I asked her: “Would you like to receive Lord Jesus Christ as your personal saviour?”. She said yes and I led her to say the sinner’s prayer.

Praise the Lord! The heavens rejoice over one sinner who repents. My friend has been added into God’s kingdom! I told her to remember today is her new birthday as a Christian.

I will continue to guide her along the way and explain to her things that is in the Bible that she does not understand.

Romans 10:9-10 (NIV) 9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

PRIORITY ON BBTC LIFTSWe would like to remind BBTCians attending Services that priority in using the lifts should be given to parents with prams and young children, the elderly, and those with physical disabilities. For the able-bodied among us, kindly avoid using the lift and use the stairs. If you are already in the lift and someone in greater need approaches, please vacate your space on the lift. We thank you for your kind cooperation.

ROAD SAFETY: STAY SAFE, BE GRACIOUSWe would like to remind BBTCians to observe road safety and graciousness both as drivers or pedestrians, to maintain a good witness as Christians within the community. Please avoid jaywalking or making illegal U-turns. Also, try not to alight along the main road.

PARKING IN CHURCHWe seek your understanding in not parking in the church compound during the Saturday and Sunday services. Parking lots in BBTC should be reserved for visitors only. We politely request that those ferrying young children or the elderly drop their passengers off in church first before parking outside the church compound.

A handful of lots in the BBTC car park involve double-parking, where a parked car may block the car behind it. For those who park in these lots, please observe the following rules:

1 Write your name, handphone number and location within church on the form provided. Leave this on your windscreen so the driver of the blocked car can contact you. Check your phone regularly to ensure you are not preventing someone from moving his or her car.

2 If you intend to stay in church for an extended period, please avoid these lots altogether.
