From the smallest enterprise to the largest corporation, organizations are created and designed by people to achieve organizational objectives. The more managers and employers understand human behaviour the more employees can be inspired and motivated. AIM To prepare participants to be effective members and managers of workplace teams; particularly through understanding the nature of work performance and by having an awareness of behavioural levers which managers can apply to improve the performance and job satisfaction of individuals. OBJECTIVES At the end of this course, participants will: Understand the roots of cultural differences in their host country to enhance work productively. Learn about their host country history, economic, demographics, education and social issues so that they can communicate effectively. Analyse their own cultural history and value so that they can see how these affect their interaction with others. Understand how cultural values affect communication styles, habits and attitudes at work. LEARNING OUTCOMES Examine managerial styles in terms of concern for production and concern for people. Assess different systems of management and relate these systems to organizational characteristics. Appreciate the importance of adopting an appropriate style of managerial behaviour and approach to the management of people. Analyse managerial effectiveness and suggest criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of managers. Understand the need for a cross-cultural approach and the importance of managing cultural differences. Trainer’s Profile

ACADEMIC A committed senior business lecturer with 12 years experience. Lectures undergraduate and post graduate programs at several foreign partner universities. Responsible for carrying out teachning and research duties from time to time. Involved in preparing lecture material and delivering for working adults. Involved in lecture administrative assignements mainly marking and moderating of exam scripts, uploading into the university exam portals. Involved in mentoring, and providing educational support for foreign students. Involved in providing curriculum feedback to partner universities so as they align their curriculum to meet industry requirements. Involved in organising student’s final presentation for sponsored corporate organisations. Attended meetings with the Malaysia Quality Assurance (MQA) which comprises mainly of members from the ministry. Provide supervision for postgraduate students in preparation for final thesis submission. These students are holding senior management positions in their respective organisations. The students are from diverse industry- manufacturing, health service,transportation, telecommunication, agricultural and many other. Highly rated lecturer by students and partner universities at all the learning institutions associated. Selected to attend lecturer development programs with partner universities- University of South Queenland,Australia, Monash University, Women Institute Management. CORPORATE Created business marketing strategies for logistics and hotel industries with the intent of business development. Involved in conducting organisational audits for branch level. Prepared budget for department level. Project leader in Quality Management System certification from planning to implementation stage. Prepare marketing research for organisations to meet business goals. Prepared logistics plan for dedicated clients, so, they can reduce their operational cost.
