1. Definition. Communication is defined as “Exchange of thoughts or mental inferences by means of clear utterances from communicator to communiee.” The person who gives communication is communicator and the person who receives communication is communiee and the message communicated is known as communiqué.

2. 3. This communication is different from your corporate communications which

revolves round upward downward lateral grapevine formal informal verbal and nonverbal communications. This is a new type of communication with literary references and you can enjoy it.

4. History of communication: How communication got entered in to the society cannot be established. Ancient Stone Age human beings through their action they communicate each other. Birds and monkeys communicate each other by their sounds. The child immediately after coming from the womb of the mother makes its cries and that becomes its maiden communication with the Mother and the Doctor. Regarding the history of communication we cannot trace the entrance of communication and how it came in to the colonial society. With our mythological observation during Kratha Yuga KAYAGU the wife of ERANYA KASIBU and his son Baktha Pragalad received communication of Narayana Mandiram even when he was in the womb of his mother from Naradha Muni. There were evidences for that from Vishnu Puranas and because of that Pragalad became a sworn enemy of his Demon father ERANYA KASIBU. IN MAHABARATHAM also Veera Abimanyu got inspiration in the womb itself regarding the Padma Viuga a warfare techniques. With that we can come to a conclusion that communication do exist from the time immemorial. As the civilization grows up Philologist came into existence and the science of philology gives rise to language and this language rule over as a medium of communication.

5. Objects of communication: 1. To make understand others. 2. Getting satisfaction for having conveyed the idea. 3. Making others to realize in order to motivate. 4. Getting desired result and becoming happy. 4. Various Types of Communications:

1. Positive Communication2. Negative Communication

3. Mocking Communication4. Invective Communication5. Lateral Communication6. Sarcastic Communication7. Effective Communication8. Silent Communication9. Organizational Communication

5.Agents of Communication: (a) Postman (b) Pageboy (c) Birds such as Parrot Annaparavi Pigeon. (d) Diplomat.

In ancient days the above people and birds have been used as agents of communication and the first three agents are having only literary values and the important one is Diplomacy. This can be classified as follows:

1. Gunboat Diplomacy.2. Olive Branch Diplomacy3. Iron Hand Diplomacy4. Ransom Diplomacy5. Irritating Diplomacy

Gunboat Diplomacy: This kind of Diplomacy mostly practiced by world policeman like Americans. They used to threaten with their modern warfare techniques and enforce other countries or persons to submit to their dictations or face the consequence.

Olive Branch Diplomacy : This kind of diplomacy is adopted by peace loving countries like Indians and wants to reconcile and in the process brings the dispute to the Negotiating Table and settle things amicably.

Iron Hand Diplomacy: This is diplomacy in which dominant party with its muscle power force to make the other party to accept its dictation.

Ransom Diplomacy: This is a kind of Diplomacy through which an important personal or a precious thing has been abducted or taken by applying force and in the bargain claiming to commit their wishes. This is mostly practiced by hijackers of plane and warmongers.

Irritating Diplomacy: In this Diplomacy it is learnt that despite producing evidences against the other party which is not at all willing to submit and accept their misdeeds and going on claiming their ignorance. The best example of this type of diplomacy is between India and Pakistan regarding the hostile attitudes of Pakistan in containing and controlling terrorist activities. Despite producing strong evidence against them Pakistan is

not preparing to accept their mistake and telling cock and bull story to the International Community.

6. Modes of Communication:

1. Letter2. Bhakthi3. Media4. Languages5. Lectures6. Singing7. Sending gifts and Mementos

The above things can be easily understood. (A brief lecture on the above heads.)

7. Communication in Puranas: Kamba Ramayana.

1. Communication between Lord Rama and Anjaneya. (Effective Communication.) This communication is very famous and it revealed the intelligence of Anjaneya. The message communicated is “Kanden Sithayai”. Lord Rama was in distress as He is not able to trace the whereabouts of his wife Sitha. To relieve this stress Anjaneya first conveyed the message that he found out Matha Sitha at Lanka.

4

Page 5: Effective communication ii

2. Lord Rama and Matha Sitha. The message Communicated is as follows: The poet Kambar describes this as “Annalum Nokinal Avalum Nokinal”. This is the best example of Silent Communication by staring each other.

3. Communication between Kooni and Kaikeyee: Kooni the servant maid of Kaikeyee by her talented communication converts her as a sworn enemy of lord Rama and forces her husband Dasrathan to send Rama to the forest for 14 years. This is the best example of Negative Communication

Paradise Lost.

4. John Milton’s Paradise Lost: The communication between the Devil and Eval to eat the forbidden fruit. The Devil in the form of serpent by its sinful tongue persuades Eval to eat the forbidden fruits and thereby makes her to commit sin. This is also Negative Communication.

Dr Fastus.

5. In Dr Fastus. The Mephistopheles the Devil Persuades Dr Fastus to enter in to an agreement accordingly the Devil will be his slave for 100 years in return of that Dr Fastus will have to surrender his soul to the Devil at the end of the year and this is also an example of Negative Communication.

Rape of the Lock.

6. Alexander Pope’s Rape of the lock (locks of hair): This is the best example of Mocking Communication. It is learnt from this Poem that the hero will cut off the two beautiful locks of hair of his lady love (which give her a beautiful appearance) and kept that under his pillow as a token of love when she was sleeping. In the next morning outraged by this, both of them quarrel each other and the weaponry used for the battle is puff hairpin and comb and so on. The matter is of trivial one and on that subject writing an epic poem is a mockery one. The author Alexander Pope was having deformed shoulder with crooked appearance and every one used to mock at him about his crooked appearance. Highly enraged by this act the author wrote an epic poem by criticizing feminine frivolous world and made it as a satire to the beautiful human society.

Mahabaratham.

7. Sisupal and Lord Krishna in Mahabarath (Invective Communication). In the epic of Mahabarath The Sisupal the Demon always used to curse Lord Krishna by filthy words.

5

Page 6: Effective communication ii

Being a relative to his mother Lord Krishna gave him excuse up to 100 times to curse and when he crossed the limit beyond 100 times He killed him.

8. Sarcastic Communication: Lord Krishna’s Diplomacy infavour of Pandavas to Gowravas. This was very well planned and enacted by Lord Krishna in order to nullify the Great Bow possessed by Vithura, which he obtained from Lord Shiva. When he possesses that divine bow no one can conquer Vithura the uncle of the king Durioodana who is in the side of Gowravas. He tricked Durioodana by visiting Vithura’s house and then visited the king Durioodana’s Palace. Enraged by this king Durioodana scolded the mother of Vithura with filthy sarcastic words in the open assembly durbar hall. By that sarcastic remarks Vithura became angry and in the process he broke the Great Divine Bow and that had happened as wished by lord Krishna. Thus the Broken Arrow Movie was taken and enacted in Duawpra Yuga itself and then only came to Hollywood Movie.

Swami Vivekananda

9. The Brothers and Sisters in the salutation address given by Swami Vivekananda at Chicago made him popular throughout the World. This is also a best example of Effective Communication.

Abraham Lincoln.

. 10. To begin in the address as 87 years ago it is begun as four scores and seven years ago (by Abraham Lincoln Magic of words)

8. Communication linked other Subjects.(1) Human Behaviors (2) Stress Management.

Human Behaviors. Human Behaviors forms an important part in the communication.Behavioral aspects are determined and controlled by various kinds of human colours(varieties of human) and their mental aptitudes. Here we have to examine the theory enunciated by the Father of Psychology Sigmund Freud. According to him human being can be classified as (1) Id people (2) Egoistic People (3) Super Egoistic People. Communication and the behavioral Psychology are complimentary in nature, i.e., one depending upon other. The behavioral Psychology will synthesize the message of communication that is going to be delivered among the communiee. Therefore it is absolutely necessary to understand different human behavioral Psychology and that will ultimately make you expert in practicing the techniques of Communication.

6

Page 7: Effective communication ii

1. Id people: normal people who never bother for anything When they feel hungry without any hesitation tries to eat and does not consider any table manner.

2. Egoistic people: is a kind of people who like their own flattery and lives on that

pleasure. When they feel hungry they remain passive and more concerned about others and think how the other people will think of us while we eat

3. Super Egoistic people: They only like their flattery and lives in their imaginary world and build castles in the air and do not like to face the realistic worldly affairs. Even when they feel hungry for maintaining prestige they even skip the meal but at the same time mentally agitated. Besides that we have to examine the Thirumandira Kalars of human beings. The Thirumandiram a Tamil Vedic books classifies the Human Beings as follows:

Thirumanthira Kalars(Colours) of human beings : Accoarding to Thirumanthiram the human souls are classified according to the Malams- the impurities of mind. They are

(1) Aanavam (2) Kanmam (3) Maya. The three varieties of human beings are as follows:

(1).Vingganakalar- Having one malam that is Aanavam.

(2). Pralayakalar- Having two malas that is Aanavam and Kanmam

(3). Sakalar-Having three malas that is Aanavam kanmam and Maya

He further classifies the above three categories as follows:

(1). Vingganakalar: (a). Vingganar. Having one malam the Aannavam and be normal without any important attachment. Again subdivided in to three (1) Uthamam exactly fit (2). Mathimam exactly half fit (3). Adamam exactly unfit

(b). Angganar. Having Aanavam and always used to doubt about the genuiness of Brammam. Again subdivided in to three (1). Uthamam (2). Mathimam. (3) Adamam as above. (c). Engganar. Having Aanavam and used to question about the genuiness of Brammam. Again subdivided in to three(1). Uthamam(2). Mathimam (3). Adamam.

(d).Meigganar. Having Aanavam and tries to understand the All Mighty and takes earnest effort to get mingled with the Brammam. They are also sibdivided in to three (1). Uthamam (2). Mathimam(3). Adamam. Thus the above Vingganar has been classified in to12 varieties as indicated above.

Prlayakalar:. Having two malas Aanavam and Kanmam again subdivided in to three (1). Uthamam (2). Mathimam (3). Adamam.

7

Page 8: Effective communication ii

Sakalar. Having three malas Aanavam Kanmam and Maya again subdivided in to three (1). Uthamam (2). Mathimam(3). Adamam.

Thus the above three varieties of soul are subdivided in to 18 characters and these are hidden in the mind of the people that leads them in the game of life which is more or less like gambling. This can be under stood through song number.2866. Out of the above 18 characters some of them are phenotypic having expressed externally in the present janma and some are genotypic and passed on to the ensuing generation by means of linkage and crossing over which has been scientifically proved by Cytological Theory of Stern’s Experiment, a great Biological Scientist. This can be very well understood by a song as given here under. It says as follows:Song no; 468: Under the influence of kamam the father and mother make an Embryo and it constitutes one Aanma, with nine pores with nine vayu on that, five Ganaendrium, five Kanmendrium and has the measurement of eight units of its palm length mixed with the 18 characters along with mortal remains of bones blood and muscles are baked in the womb of the mother like a brick in a kiln

The Ingredients of Human Genesis are:(1). Anma The soul 1

(2). Five Ganendrium. The five sense organs 1. Skin 2. Ears. 3. Nose. 4. Mouth.5. Eyes. 5

(3). Five Kanmendrium. 1. Kamam.2.Krotham. 3.Lobam. 4. Matham. 5. Macharium 5

(4). Nine pores in the body with specific vayu (air or nadi) 9

(5). Measurement of body on its own palm length. 8

(6). Characters of soul as detailed above (18) (12+3+3) 18

Total 46

The above aspects of human behavior are discussed in order to understand the characters of human classification so that you can communicate successfully depending upon the nature such as uthamam mathimam and adamam and gets things done.

(2) Stress Management: Stress also forms an important role in communication. Stress is defined as “mental irritation or agitation of mind which gradually inhibits our normal course of action and a conscipicous impulse will be inflicted on our body and that will dictate things and produce a modified result on a given task”.
