Date of Lesson: 5/1 State Standard ( # and statement): # 19: Acquire skills & understand concepts needed to engage in health- enhancing physical activity. Psychomotor Behavioral Objective: All students will participate in four corners participating in different locomotion movements. Team: 3 rd Grade Name: Catalina Davila Portion of lesson: Fitness Time: 10:33 10:34 1-2 minutes 30 seconds 25 seconds 2 minutes 1 minutes Instructional Strategies: Explain the activity and how “4 Corners” is play. There will be four groups of approximately four/five students. The teacher will number each student: 1, 2, 3, 4. Each group will start at a different colored cone. - From the red cone to the orange cone students will skip. - From the orange cone to the purple cone students will jog. - From the purple cone to the green cone students will do the crab walk. - From green cone to the red cone students will bunny jump. Other locomotion movements: Gallop, Bear walk Ms. Jen will help demonstrate what will be done at each different colored cone. When I say, “go” all team will line up on the outside of the rectangular shape by their assigned colored cone. go” As students are doing their locomotion movement walk around the “4 Corners” and complement them for running correctly, for making the crab walk look easy etc. “Okay, class now for the next 1 minute you will do the opposite way”. Management Strategies: Initial Formation: Students will be quietly sitting on the floor as the wait for directions. All students need to be paying attention to avoid having to repeat directions. Other teachers can aid in making sure they are outside the rectangular shape and not inside. Make sure to choose students from different groups to complement. Gesture with my hand the direction they will be now following.

    Instructional Strategies Now for the next 30 seconds or so, you will move to each corner in slow motion. Keep moving in the same direction but now you will be moving in slow motion. Please be careful of the person in front of you. For the next 15 seconds do Your Silly Walk. Press the whistle to which all students should stop. Once all students have stopped, tell them to quickly and quietly walk over to the center of the gym and sit down. Class, thank you for participating, everyone did an excellent job. Now please give your attention to Ms. Katie.

    Management Strategies: Ending formation: Students will be quietly be sitting on the floor waiting for further instructions.
