PERSONAL STATEMENT

I am a hard working dedicated employee with experience in the retail sector, able to work well under pressure and never afraid of a challenge. I pride myself on my flawless sickness record and punctuality, plus my ability to think logically and plan ahead. Excellent customer service skills and able to build and lead a team. I enjoy walking, reading, football and regularly raise money for charity when I can. I have a full clean driving license.

EMPLOYMENT

DEPUTY CATERING AND RETAIL MANAGER SOUTH CHESHIRE COLLEGE, CREWE FEBRUARY 1994 - PRESENT.

A busy stationery/confectionery shop with up to 3000, 6th form students within the college on any given day. We provide books, magazines, papers, sweets, drinks, gifts and art and stationery materials to meet the rapidly changing demands of the students, staff and public. Whilst at the Shop I have also been on several staff development courses such as Manual Handling, Equality and Diversity, Mediation, Safeguarding, Data protection training etc. I have also built and trained a winning team. I have not taken any sick leave during my entire time at the Shop and am very punctual. The shop made the top 100 Independent Retailers shortlist in 2007. I also deputise for the Catering manager when needed in a busy student catering area.

DUTIES-Responsible for handling, processing and security of money including cashing up and balancing at the close of business using a stock-link computerised system.Ordering, receiving and displaying stock and dealing with any problems regarding orders.Supervising and training assistants within the workplace in the absence of the manager.Dealing with customers on a day to day basis and maintaining good customer relations.Staying alert and vigilant especially during busy periods. HOBBIES AND INTERESTS

I enjoy playing many sports particularly football and have played for teams at both 5 and 11 a sides. I enjoy walking in the countryside and along Britain’s coastline. I have a passion for science fiction films and enjoy history.I do work for charity when possible and have helped raise funds for various local/national charities. I am told I also have a talent for doing impressions.
