    PURPOSES

    The undergraduate degree inNursing is to provide an

    educational programme through

    which the graduates will be

    prepared to assume

    responsibility in the primary,secondary and tertiary care of

    people as professional nurses.

    It is expected that graduates

    are capable of teaching andsupervising appropriate nursing

    and health care in different

    course in nursing is a formaleducational preparation, which

    should be sound educationprinciples. The INC believes that the basic

    course in nursing should prepare

    nurses for first level position inNursing both in the hospital and thecommunity.

    The minimum age for admission shall be17 years.

    The minimum educational requirementsshall be the passing of:

    Higher Secondary School Certificate

    Examination (10 +2) or an equivalentwith 12 years schooling with Biological,Physical sciences and English.

    Obtained at least 45% of total marks inscience subjects

    Is medically fit

    &CONDUCT A minimum of 80% attendance isrequired in theory and practical

    separately in each subject.

    Attendance of 10% may be condoned

    by the vice chancellor on therecommendation of the Principalbased on genuinity of the case.

    INTERNAL ASSESSMENT

    The principles enunciated bythe university in each subject

    for which 25% marks These will be a minimum oftwo assignments and threeperiodical tests in every year

    DECLARATION OF RESULTS

    1. Pass marks: In all mainsubjects, both theory andpractical the minimum passmarks shall be 50% whereas insubsidiary/ qualifying subjectsminimum pass marks shall be35%.

    2. No university examination issuggested for trends and issues inNursing including NursingResearch, and Elective.
