All visits must have a travel form completed and signed by natural family, host family and Global Students Services of America head office.

Natural parents agree to pay for any and all telephone calls made by the participant including any calls made which may appear on the host family’s telephone bill after the departure of the participant

Benefits for Host Family

Global Student Services of America recruits American families from diverse backgrounds and strives to carefully match students and host families to ensure the best experience for everyone.

Host Families provide a room for their student that has a desk and desk light for studying purposes and provides three meals a day. The student is expected to become a family member, joining the family in activities, excursions and helping with some household chores. Families support the student in adjusting to American culture by being an active member of their school and community.

While interacting with the family, the student will be learning English, and experiencing American culture. This is a good time for the student to share their culture, traditions and holidays with their host family. Families also have the opportunity to try new foods. Through opening their hearts and homes, American families have the opportunity to form lasting relations with friends from around the world. Hosting students from around the world gives families the opportunity to see their community through new eyes.
