Reflective Analysis of Portfolio Artifact Rationale/Reflection INTASC Standard: STANDARD 7. PLANNING FOR INSTRUCTION The teacher plans instruction that supports every student in meeting rigorous learning goals by drawing upon knowledge of content areas, curriculum, cross-disciplinary skills, and pedagogy, as well as knowledge of learners and the community context. (INTASC, 2011) Brief Description of Evidence: As part of my EDUC 210 Planning for The Elementary Classroom course during the fall semester of 2014, I worked with another classmate to create and implement a lesson plan in a third grade classroom. I created a lesson plan that covered all parts of the standard at an appropriate level for third grade students. Analysis of What I Learned: I learned how to make a lesson plan that will teach students one of the Indiana state standards. I also learned how to apply knowledge that I have into creating things that are formatted into a way that is easy to see and is easy for others to follow. I investigated different ways to locate the appropriate supplies for my classroom and for my students to easily use. While working on this lesson plan I acquired knowledge on how students will complete activities at their own pace. How This Artifact Demonstrates my Competence on the INTASC Standard: My competence in this standard is proven by my ability to design a lesson plan that can be used to find teach students in my classroom that are within guidelines set forth by the Indiana State Standards.
