Sarah Chan is a piano teacher, social advocate, and mother of two. She commits her life to helping build the community alongside her partner, Mayor Don Iveson. Sarah acts as a role model and ambassador in furthering the empowerment of girls and inspiring youth to lead.

Sarah was Campaign Cabinet Co-Chair of United Way of the Alberta Capital Region (ACR) from 2016 to 2018. She created and continues to Chair the Denton’s Make Your Mark youth initiative at United Way ACR. Sarah was recognized by Avenue Magazine among the Top 40 Under 40 in Edmonton in 2015.

Sarah is engaged in many undertakings to help others achieve success in school and in life. She is a Big Sister with Big Brothers, Big Sisters, Director of Corporate Relations of Apricity, Honorary Patron for Youth Empowerment and Support Services (YESS), and a member of the Mentor team at Peter Lougheed Leadership College.

Carrie Ann Crozier is General Manager of Operations for the Yellowhead Division, which covers CN’s network in Alberta and most of Saskatchewan. The Yellowhead Division is CN’s most dense customer territory and originates a large portion of CN’s traffic. Carrie Ann is customer and supply chain minded.

She is committed to safety and the development of strong, diverse teams.

Carrie Ann comes from a long line of proud CN railroaders. She began her career in 2001 as a summer student while attending Concordia University in Montreal. Since graduating in 2004 with an Economics and Political Science degree, she has held positions in various business units and functions with progressive responsibilities at different locations across CN’s network, including Vancouver, Toronto, Halifax, Chicago and Edmonton. Carrie Ann is a champion of change and has been an integral part of several partnerships and supply chain initiatives with both customers and stakeholders.

Doug Goss is a respected member of the legal community and has established a leading practice specializing in corporate finance, securities, and counsel to public boards and venture capital.

Throughout his career, Doug has been involved in numerous private

and public corporations in a range of sectors, including communications, pharmaceuticals, tourism, construction, and cancer research. Doug currently serves as Chair of the Hockey Canada Foundation, and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Edmonton Police Foundation. He has served as Chair of the Board of Governors of the University of Alberta. Doug also served on the Board of Governors of the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, and as Chair from 2008 to 2010.

Doug is a firm believer in giving back to his community and has given his time and expertise to support many charitable initiatives in Edmonton, including the TELUS Edmonton Community Board, the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation, and the Molson Canadian Heritage Hockey Classic.

Sam Jenkins co-founded Punchcard Systems in 2016, with the vision of helping great organizations build superb products using technology. Prior to that, Sam was the CEO and co-founder of Wellnext, a software startup focused on building technology for workplace wellness, insurance, and healthcare organizations.

Sam also has a strong focus on building a vibrant cultural and economic community, and has provided leadership and expertise to several organizations, including the boards of the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, the Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival, and Startup Edmonton.

Currently, Sam serves as Chair of the Winspear Centre Completion Design and Construction Committee, working to fulfill the original vision for the facility. In 2012, Sam was named one of Edmonton’s Top 40 Under 40 by Avenue Magazine. In 2013, the University of Alberta recognized him with the Horizon Award, as an outstanding young alumnus.

Dave Mowat was the President and CEO of ATB Financial for 11 years. Under his leadership, ATB transformed into a technology leader, committed to making banking work for people, and received several accolades for its supportive workplace environment.

Dave has received many coveted awards, including being named Canada’s #1 CEO in 2016 by Glassdoor, and was honoured as Business Person of the Year in 2014 by Alberta Venture.

In 2016, Dave headed Alberta’s Royalty Review panel, after which the province adopted the panel’s recommendation of an innovative new approach to Alberta’s oil and natural gas royalty structure. He used his banking expertise to enrich the service he provided to numerous boards, including TELUS, STARS, Alberta Blue Cross, the Citadel Theatre in Edmonton, and the National Music Centre in Calgary.

Doug Ryhorchuk was appointed Vice-President, Network Operations in April 2019, based in Edmonton. In this role, he is responsible for driving CN’s operation and service plan and performance as well as the planning of track, crew and locomotive investments.

Doug has been with CN since 1983. He started in the Engineering Department and moved to Transportation as a First Line Supervisor in the late ’90s. He worked in various operational roles in several locations in Western Canada and moved to Toronto’s MacMillan Yard as Transportation Superintendent. In 2015, Doug was named General Manager for both BC and Alberta, and then Vice-President, Western Region in 2016.

Doug is known for his positive leadership style in driving significant improvements in safety, productivity, employee engagement and process controls. As such, Doug received a CN President’s Award for Excellence in 2009 and again in 2012 for his role in the company’s transition towards becoming a supply chain enabler.

Paul Miller began his CN career as a junior engineer in Montreal; 34 years later, he retired as CN’s Vice-President and Chief Safety, Sustainability and Network Transportation Officer. Over his career with CN, Paul worked in Moncton, Montreal, Toronto, Winnipeg, Edmonton and Prince

Rupert. He held positions in Operations, Marketing and various Corporate functions. Since his retirement, Paul has been a consultant, educator, board member and volunteer.

Paul holds a Master of Science in Engineering (M.Sc.E.) in Transportation Planning and Engineering, and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (B.Sc.E.), both from the University of New Brunswick. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Alberta (P. Eng.) and holds the ICD.D. designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors. For the last eight years, Paul has fostered the next generation of railway operational leaders as an adjunct professor and “Railroader in Residence” at the Canadian Rail Research Laboratory, University of Alberta.

Ashif Mawji is a serial social entrepreneur and investor who has built and sold several enterprises, and is actively engaged in the community. He currently serves as a Venture Partner at Rising Tide.

Ashif has received many prestigious awards, including Canada’s 50 Best

Managed Companies Award three years in a row, and was named one of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 in 2005. In addition to receiving several medals, he was also promoted to Honorary Colonel for the 20th Field Artillery Regiment. In 2019, Ashif was inducted into the Junior Achievement (JA) Alberta Business Hall of Fame.

Ashif has served on many boards, including the Edmonton Police Foundation, Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation, Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, Edmonton Opera and others. He was named a Henry Crown Fellow in the class of 2015 (one of only three Canadians to ever be selected to this group since 1996).

Angus Watt is Managing Director, Individual Investor Services at National Bank Financial, and mentor of the Angus Watt Advisory Group. He and his group manage over $1 billion in assets and are specialists in investment management, financial planning, and much more.

Angus has received many prestigious titles during his career, such as Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and Honorary Colonel of the South Alberta Light Horse Regiment. He has also served on several boards, including the Alberta Order of Excellence, and the University of Alberta Senate Student Mental Health Endowment. He was Founder and Chair of the Edmonton Police Foundation and served as a member of the City of Edmonton Food and Agriculture Committee.

Angus is a past recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow, awarded by the Rotary Club of Canada. In 2012, Angus received The Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal. Most recently, Angus received the Community Enrichment Award on National Philanthropy Day in 2017.

Tyler Banick joined CN in Edmonton in 2011 as a Conductor in the Transportation Department. In 2014, he was promoted to an Onboarding and Engagement role, reporting to the Vice-President, Western Region. In this position, Tyler engaged with new CN employees to ensure a smooth onboarding

experience, assisted with recruitment efforts, and worked with the Aboriginal Affairs Department. In April 2020, Tyler was promoted to Manager, Public Affairs for Alberta and Northern British Columbia.

Prior to joining CN, Tyler spent 12 years at Canada Post, holding progressively more responsibility within the Operations team.
