Provincial Achievement Test Results 2012/2013 Highlights* • The percentage of Edmonton Catholic Schools’ students achieving the Acceptable Standard exceeded the provincial percentage of students in 13 out of 17 standards. • The percentage of Edmonton Catholic Schools’ students achieving the Standard of Excellence exceeded the provincial percentage of students in 9 out of 17 standards. • Grade 3 students exceeded the provincial percentage of students achieving the Acceptable Standard in English Language Arts. • Grade 6 students exceeded the provincial percentage of students achieving the Acceptable Standard in 4 out of 5 subject areas (English Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies). • Grade 9 students exceeded the provincial percentage of students achieving the Acceptable Standard and Standard of Excellence in ALL subject areas. • Grade 9 K&E students exceeded the provincial percentage of students achieving the Acceptable Standard in 3 out of 4 subject areas (English Language Arts, Science, Social Studies). • The percentage of Edmonton Catholic Schools’ Grade 9 students attaining the Acceptable Standard exceeded the provincial percentage by: • 14.7% in Grade 9 K&E English Language Arts; • 9.6% in Grade 9 Social Studies; • 8.7% in Grade 9 English Language Arts; • 7.9% in Grade 9 Mathematics; • 7.6% in Grade 9 Science; • 6.3% in Grade 9 K&E Science; • 6.2% in Grade 9 K&E Social Studies; and • 4.0% in Grade 9 French Language Arts. Edmonton Catholic Schools continued to have higher participation rates than the province in almost all subject areas (16 out of 17). Overall, Edmonton Catholic Schools’ students have continued to exceed the province in a large number of subject areas. Highlights* • The percentage of Edmonton Catholic Schools’ students achieving the Acceptable Standard
