Research: My role as a senior lecturer in CardiovascularMedicine is multi-faceted; principally I carry out research intothe molecular basis of left ventricular dysfunction and heartfailure using a combination of transgenesis and geneknockout technologies, molecular biology and analysis ofcardiac physiology. Much of this research is carried out incollaboration with a number of post-graduate students under

my supervision (see details below) and is funded by grants from British HeartFoundation and MRC.

Postgraduate research tutor for Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences within the Facultyof Medical and Human Sciences: All PhD, MD and MPhil students have a PGR tutor inthis role I maintain an overview of each students progress through their programme. Iam here to provide all types of help and guidance.

Teaching: I teach on a number of graduate and undergraduate courses in the Faculty ofMedical and Human Sciences and am lead for the Cardiovascular Fitness teaching to theMB ChB undergraduate medical students.
