• Characters• All items visible on screen that can be printed• Examples: Letters, numbers, graphics

• Nonprinting Characters• All items that can be seen on a screen, but NOT

printed• Examples: Hard returns, blank spaces, & tabs• How To: Click on the Show/Hide button

• Mouse• Click & Drag—Selects 1 character at a time• Double-click a word—Selects entire word• Triple-click—Selects entire paragraph• Triple-click in Left Margin—Selects entire document
