While filming we used a ‘Work mans lamp.’ We first used it while filming the cellar scene. This was the only lighting we had when filming in the cellar. We liked how it created an atmosphere that created shadows. During this bit of filming I helped direct the scene. I wanted this bit to portray the thrilling consequences of the crime world. Also the rustic worn down look of the room and the aggressive manner in which the main female was being handled would add a sense of a cliff hanger to the trailer as it would enter questions into the viewers mind of why they are hostage and if they were going to get out. Showing a huge juxtaposition to the glamorous setting previously seen and the voice over, which suggests the women are in charge. Creating an exciting plot twist to the trailer. We filmed a range of close up shots We had to be careful when using this as the light got very hot and was very heavy.. So we made sure that we turned it off when not using it and added it onto our risk assessment for the next location.

We filmed a range of close up shots emphasising on the capture showing hands and parts of faces to insert a sort of anonymous feel, which is common in crime films as most of the criminal activities are illegal.

We had to be careful when using this as the light got very hot and was very heavy.. So we made sure that we turned it off when not using it and added it onto our risk assessment for the next location.

We also used the lamp when filming the car scene. We had a problem making it look in focus and even lighting because it was dark outside and there was nothing for the light to reflect off. But it was important for us to film at this time as we wanted a dark setting to fit the genre and also wanted it to have continuity with the other scenes we had filmed in that shoot. We set it up above the camera pointing down to try and get as much light as possible outside. In this we used the tripod as we found it important for the camera to stay still and in the same place so the match on action with the car driving away would look professional. At first we used a normal light bulb in

poker table scene. But we felt that the lighting looked artificial and didn’t really create the atmosphere we were hoping for. So we used the workman's lamp again and set it up so It was on top of a chair looking over the room and table. We were worried this would look a bit too bright but we adjusted the white balance and brightness on the camera so it looked right. We were happy with how it created the shadows as felt this fitted our crime genre.
