Objectives of ECHA

• To recognise students who demonstrate exemplary character

and outstanding personal qualities through their behaviour

and actions and who can be role models to inspire others

• To support schools’ continuing efforts in nurturing students of

good values and character, who are active contributors and

concerned citizens

• To send a clear and strong signal of the importance that MOE

places on character and values, on par with achievements in

the academic domain

Yes, your teachers have selected the first round of nominees based on

a set of criteria. You have to nominate someone from the list of nominees.

2. Can I nominate a nominee from another class/level?

Yes, you can nominate a nominee from another class/level.

3. Can I nominate more than one nominee?

Yes, you can nominate more than one nominee. Please ask your form

teacher for extra nomination forms.

4. What do I write in the nomination form?

You are encouraged to give examples of specific behaviour or incidents

that you have seen your nominee demonstrating good character and

values (PRIDE).

5. What happens to the nominees who are not shortlisted to receive

the ECHA?

Nominees who are not shortlisted to receive the ECHA will receive the

School-Based Character Award. They will receive a school certificate.
