Miss Harris, Miss Ridgers and Mr SuttonReflect about your learning!

Please pause and reflect for a moment. What have you achieved this week? What was your proudest moment? Please complete this online form and we will endeavour to use this information to shape the learning journey moving forward. The task should take no more than 5 minutes.

Task 1 Edgar Mueller is a famous artists who draws 3D looking imagesEdgar Müller was born in Mülheim/Ruhr on 10 July 1968, and grew up in the rural city of Straelen on the western edge of Germany. His fascination with painting began in his childhood, with paintings of rural scenes of Straelen. Around the age of 25, Müller decided to devote himself completely to street painting. He travelled all over Europe, making a living with his transitory art. Look at some of his art work!Ice Age

Be an art critic! What feedback would you give this artist? What questions would you ask him? What would you like to know? What would you like him to teach you?Write a set of questions for Edgar Mueller. Here are some examples:

If this painting had sound effects, what would they sound like? Who was this artwork created for? If the art could talk, what would it say? If this artwork could travel anywhere in the world, where would it go? Why? If this painting were a person, what job/career would it want to have? What is this artwork afraid of?

Task 2

This task should be completed in the lined exercise book.

Today’s Art task is very exciting! You will be drawing your own optical illusion. An optical illusion is an image that tricks the human eye to see something different. Grab a piece of paper, ruler (straight edge), and pencil. There is a PowerPoint/pdf to help you 😊

This optical illusion makes the picture look like its moving.

You will be drawing this!

Task 3This task should be completed in the line exercise book or on lined paper. The task should take around 30 minutes.

Now you have finished being an artist, write a short bio about yourself as if you are a really famous artist. Look at the short bio of Edgar Mueller in task 1 and write about yourself in this style!

For example: George Smith was born in Fishponds, Bristol in 2010, the second child of William and Emma. His enjoyment of drawing 3D pieces of art began when his Year 5 teachers set him some art tasks to complete during a lockdown in the spring of 2020. George’s drawings have been photographed and sent to his teacher via email and are currently on his parents’ fridge- they have never taken it down! He always uses a ruler to perfect his straight lines and is known for his immense accuracy. To promote his first completed piece of art work, George sent photos to friends and grandparents. George still continues to draw 3D art in his spare time.
