Non-compliance with the recommendations contained in this manual will void the product guarantee. INSTALLATION SITE RECOMMENDATIONS When choosing the correct site to install an Ecotank® water storage tank, it is important to take into account any applicable regional or national rules and/or regulations regarding this type of installation. The person installing the tank must assess the installation site in terms of environmental conditions such as topography, geology, inclination, potential flood areas, landscape, surface run-off, and vegetation, among others. This is necessary to ensure none of the above factors interferes with the system’s correct functioning or puts the structural integrity of the tank at risk. Choosing an incorrect installation site or ignoring environmental factors that can potentially damage the tank will void the product guarantee. RECOMMENDATIONS FOR CORRECT INSTALLATION Place tank vertically on a level surface and make sure to remove any rocks that could damage the tank bottom. Make sure the ground where tank is to be installed is firm and compact. If very soft or a landfill, partially replace with compacted select fill material. For further details, consult an engineer. Tank should be placed on a bed of sand (75 to 100 mm thick) leaving 40 cm around tank base. Sand must be confined with a concrete or stone rim or metal profile to prevent soil from being washed away by the rain. Another option is to build a reinforced concrete base slab (75 to 100 mm thick). The base slab surface must be flat and extend 40 cm around the tank base. For further information on how to build a base slab, consult an engineer. When tank is installed on an inclined surface, the ground must be correctly contained and rainwater adequately canalized. If tanks are to be mounted on a tower or elevated platform, get help from an engineer to ensure the structure can bear the weight of the tank as well as resist seismic activity and wind. Keep in mind that 1liter of water weighs 1 kilogram. The tank base must be flat. Remember to fasten water pipes to tank platform. When connecting the tank to a pumping system, be sure to install a vent pipe at the top of the tank. Pipe diameter must be at least 38 mm (1 ½ “). In order to minimize movement, fasten the water pipe to a support near its connection to the tank (30 - 50 cm). This will decrease pressure exercised on the tank wall by any movement of the pipe, especially if a pump is installed. ECOTANK® WATER STORAGE TANK INSTALLATION MANUAL

The best tank

You have purchased an Ecotank® water storage tank. To ensure correct installation, we suggest reading the recommendations provided in this document.

WARNING!Non-compliance with the recommendations contained in this manual will void the product guarantee.

INSTALLATION SITE RECOMMENDATIONSWhen choosing the correct site to install an Ecotank® water storage tank, it is important to take into account any applicable regional or national rules and/or regulations regarding this type of installation.

The person installing the tank must assess the installation site in terms of environmental conditions such as topography, geology, inclination, potential ood areas, landscape, surface run-o, and vegetation, among others. This is necessary to ensure none of the above factors interferes with the system’s correct functioning or puts the structural integrity of the tank at risk.

Choosing an incorrect installation site or ignoring environmental factors that can potentially damage the tank will void the product guarantee.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR CORRECT INSTALLATION

Place tank vertically on a level surface and make sure to remove any rocks that could damage the tank bottom.

Make sure the ground where tank is to be installed is rm and compact. If very soft or a landll, partially replace with compacted select ll material. For further details, consult an engineer.

Tank should be placed on a bed of sand (75 to 100 mm thick) leaving 40 cm around tank base. Sand must be conned with a concrete or stone rim or metal prole to prevent soil from being washed away by the rain.

Another option is to build a reinforced concrete base slab (75 to 100 mm thick). The base slab surface must be at and extend 40 cm around the tank base.

The tank base must be at.

INSTALLATION PRECAUTIONS

Do not mount tank on an inclined platform.

Do not mount tank on a platform that is smaller than the tank base.

Do not place tank on an uneven surface.

Do not mount tank on blocks. Should you choose to do so, the space between these should not exceed 3 cm.

Do not install tank below ground. Do not place tank on crushed stone, vegetation, roots or other elements that could damage the tank bottom.

Never install tank in a position other than specied.

Do not manipulate tank if full or partially full of water.

Do not install tank on ground with surface water run-o or in areas prone to ooding.

GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS

• Make sure to wash tank before installing in order to remove

any contaminating particles that might be inside due to

handling and/or transportation.

• Tank should be cleaned every six months to remove particles

and sediment.

• Make sure to properly close tank lid so that sunlight and

especially UV rays do not promote algae growth.

• Do not use bent or twisted pipes or hoses to make

connections as this puts stress on the connection to the tank.

• When using a pumping system, fasten the entry pipe to a

support in order to minimize movement.

• Tank installation site must be easily accessible for inspection

and correct maintenance.

• Never use sharp objects to manipulate the tank (including a

forklift) as these can perforate the tank.

• When storing tank before installation, make sure it is stored

in a vertical position on a level surface.

• Temperature of liquid stored inside the tank must not

exceed 60°C.

• Before installing any accessories, make sure to ask an

authorized dealer.

• Tanks are not fire resistant. Do not use or store near an open

ame or heat above 80° C.

• Do not obstruct or seal access to the tank inspection lid.

• To ensure adequate water pressure in the case of elevated

tanks, there must be a distance of at least 2 m between the

tank base and highest supply pipe (shower, for example).
