Dal microcredito al
Social Business
Ai problemi della popolazione
povera dei villaggi, sia
economici che ambientali,
Yunus risponde dando vita ad
attività economiche finalizzate
alla risoluzione del problema.
Non è il social business inteso
come l’utilizzo di strumenti di
social media e social networking
nelle varie aree funzionali del
business
Joint Venture nata nel
2006 per produrre
yogurt multivitaminico
a prezzi accessibili per i
più poveri
Un social business è un’impresa sostenibile il
cui principale obiettivo non è l’arricchimento
personale dell’investitore, ma la risoluzione di

• Social Business Initiative (2011)
In order to promote a 'highly competitive social market economy', the
Commission has placed the social economy and social innovation at the
heart of its concerns, in terms of both territorial cohesion and the search for
new solutions to societal problems, in particular the fight against poverty and
exclusion, under the Europe 2020 strategy, the flagship initiative 'The
Innovation Union’, the European Platform against Poverty and Social
Exclusion and the 'Single Market Act'4 (SMA).
A social enterprise is an operator in the social economy whose main
objective is to have a social impact rather than make a profit for their owners
or shareholders. It operates by providing goods and services for the market in
an entrepreneurial and innovative fashion and uses its profits primarily to
achieve social objectives. It is managed in an open and responsible manner
and, in particular, involve employees, consumers and stakeholders affected
by its commercial activities{SEC(2011) 1278 final}

4. The Commission must ensure that its commitment to create an eco-system
for social enterprise is mainstreamed in its policies.
“At EU level, the SBI has made a positive start in promoting eco-systems for
social enterprises but we must not lose momentum. “
1. The EU must follow through on all the actions in the SBI. It should develop
a second phase of the SBI that broadens its scope, deepens its partnership
with Member States, regional and local authorities, civil society organisations
and key players in the ecosystem.
