In the Macro Economics it is the aggregate that decides the progress of the country. Parameters
like GDP growth rate, inflation ,employment etc are the targets of government .The goals of
government of reducing income inequality gap ishas become the secondary cosideration .That
gap have been accepted as the part of globalised and liberalized world. As a result world over
unrest and global protests in countries like Greece ,Italy, USA, Syria Egypt etc have become an
order of the day.
In this day and age Gandhi’s sarvodya concept is a check and tells us about the view of the world
greatest visionary Mahatma Gandhi who realized the root cause of the world unrest and the wide
gap between haves and have not is due to the degradation of moral value system, excessive greed
etc.the ans to these can be practically found in the Trustee ship concept of Gandhi ji .Sarvodaya
means social upliftment, economic emancipation and moral resurrection of all. Gandhiji
considered this ideal as the only real dignified human doctrine is the greatest good of all, he
cherished this welfare of the rich and the poor, the prince and the dullard, the dumb, deaf and
mute. He had envisioned development with moral, ethical and spiritual values than the western
economic parameter alone. Gandhiji cherished to establish a democratic state and a new social
order on principles of truth and non-violence with Sarvodaya. Sarvodaya as an ideal, a vision and
a movement in Gandhian philosophy in its origin, dynamic in outlook, it is solidly based on a
philosophy of praxis that demands the commitment of its follower to the care and the uplift of
humanity, especially of the last and the least in any society.
This paper will discuss the present causes of unrest in the world and the relevance of Sarvodya in
today’s modern scenario.
