Principales Retos y Oportunidades de la Industria de
Buques Portacontenedores
• Aumentos en capacidad de la flota mundial ponen presión
en los fletes marítimos lo que reduce rentabilidad de los
operadores marítimos.
• Aumento en costos producto de estricciones ambientales,
ejemplo en los puertos de California el “Cold Ironing “ y el
uso de combustible bajo en azufre dentro de las 40 millas
del puerto y se espera se extienda a 200 millas.
• Disminución de poder de precio, resultado de la
concentración de clientes o importadores pueden controlar
precios de un operador marítimo – Ejemplo – Walmart.
• Deterioro en el servicio producto del «slow steaming» ha
afectado severamente las cadenas de suministro – lo que
hace imperativo desarrollar paquetes de «premium service»
en que la confiabilidad y entrega rápida son esenciales.
