Pamisos is our biggest river. Aris,

one of its main branch is badly

polluted.

Oil factories are polluting land, rivers and the sea. They dump their wastes (ground seed and seed oil) which could be naturally recycled, into rivers or land areas. They are even allowed to dump it into the sea as long as it’s 500 metres from the shore. Although this law was changed 102013 it is still not enforced.

As there are over 200 olive factories in our area we will face serious problems in the future if stricter measures are not put into effect.
