The ECA-1000 catalyst alarm is an adjustable flow detection device. The
catalyst sensor is affected by rate and volume. In a normal operation the alarm
should sound for 1-2 seconds during the start of operation. This informs the
operator that the unit is in operation. The alarm will also sound at the end of each
operation to inform the operator that the unit was functional throughout the
spraying process. The operator quickly adjusts sensitivity by loosening the
thumbnut on the pickup sensor and sliding it up or down for higher or lower
sensitivity.
Installation:
1. Mount the alarm enclosure with #8 fasteners included. Make sure the siren is
pointed toward the operator.
*Note: Enclosure must be mounted above pump assembly.
2. Install catalyst sensor assembly. (See diagram for correct system configuration.)
*Note: Teflon tape all pipe thread fittings
Sensor must be mounted vertically
3. Install power head signal line. (See diagram for correct system configuration)
4. Route and secure all cables, hoses to minimize strain or mechanical damage.

Setup and adjustment of Catalyst sensor
1. With the gun open and catalyst flowing through the sensor, loosen the thumbnut
and slide the pickup sensor down on the housing until the alarm sounds.
2. Slide the pickup sensor back up the housing in small increments until alarm stops.
(Note: it may take 2-3 strokes for the for the signal to catch up.)
3. Once the alarm has stopped, tighten thumbnut, close the gun, and let sit for 5-10
seconds.
4. Pull the trigger on the gun. The alarm should sound for 1-2 seconds and then it will
shut off. When the trigger is released the alarm should sound for 1-2 more seconds
and will then shut off.
5. To increase alarm sensitivity, repeat above steps but move the pickup sensor in
smaller increments up the housing until the alarm stops. Smaller increments equal
higher sensitivity.

Troubleshooting:
Alarm sounds constantly
Pickup is out of adjustment. Adjust pickup sensor. Refer to setup and adjusting section
Material has clogged sensor body Remove fittings from each end of sensor housing, remove magnet and spring,
flush with warm water, reassemble.
(*Note: Due to the small orifice in sensor body, filtering of catalyst is
highly recommended.)
Stuck pnumatic switch in control box. Remove input line from powerhead. Insert small tool (i.e paper clip) into fitting
in control box. Make sure the switch is moving. A click will be heard when
pushed on.
If switch is not working. Blow air into fitting at low pressure to try and resolve
the problem. If this does not work switch is faulty and must be replaced.
(*Note: Do not spray any type of solvent into switch. Also make sure control
box is mounted above powerhead so as not to collect water and oil discharge.
Alarm will not activate
Battery Push test button to check battery. If no sound replace battery.
Loose sensor cable Remove and reinsert cable. Make sure connections are clean.
Pickup is out of adjustment. Adjust pickup sensor. Refer to setup and adjusting section
