Meet Your Waste Management Team

Keeping Kids Safe Around Our TrucksOur teams loves to see your kids smile and wave when we drive through your neighborhood! While our trucks may be fun to watch, they are not safe to play around. Here are a few tips to keep your children safe around our trash and recycling trucks:

Share the Schedule: Make sure your kids know what days the trucks are in your neighborhood. We want them to be extra careful when playing outside.

Keep a Safe Distance: Collection trucks stop and back up frequently. Please teach kids not to follow trucks closely on their bike, skateboard or skates.

Watch Safely: Let kids know it’s okay to watch the trucks from a safe distance and remind them not to play around or near trash carts.

Stay Clear: If you have a little helper at home, please don’t let them try to help load garbage or recycling onto the truck. Leave it to our team to keep your neighborhood clean.

Stay Visible: There are several areas where the visibility is restricted for the driver. If you can’t see him/her in the eyes, they most likely can’t see your children or pets.

Cleaner Collection Days

We are proud to service Eaton with our new CNG (compressed natural gas) fleet. CNG trucks offer cleaner collection days by cutting greenhouse gas emissions and saving diesel fuel.

Our CNG fleet emits nearly zero particulate emissions, reduces greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 15 percent, and cuts smog-producing NOx emissions by 50 percent compared to the cleanest diesel trucks. To further reduce emissions and conserve fuel, CNG engines automatically turn off after five minutes of idling.

Also, our CNG engines run much quieter than diesel trucks making collection day a more tranquil one for you, yourneighbors and the community.

Did you know? In 2007, Waste Management (WM) committed to reducing our fleet’s carbon dioxide emissions by15 percent by 2020. To achieve this goal, WM began transitioning to cleaner vehicles and fuels, as well as minimizing the number of miles our trucks travel each day. As a result of these focused efforts, WM achieved the goal in 2011 - in just four years!

Grand OpeningWe will open our new Compressed Natural Gas fueling station in Ault this fall. This Northern Colorado fleet willsave 88,000 gallons of diesel fuel annually and is expected to reduce greenhouse emissions in the community by 154 metric tons per year.
