Need to Knowch – chainst – stitchdc – double crochethtc – half treble crochettc – treble crochetdtc – double treble crochetslst – slip stitchfptc – front post treble crochetbptc – back post treble crochetrnd – roundhtc2tog – htc 2 sts together(st, st, st, st)4 times) – work the series of stitches and repeat the series the number of times shown, each stitch is worked in an individual stitch unless otherwise statednumber htc – work 1 htc in each stitch for the number given. It's always one stitch in one stitch unless otherwise stated Need to DoCollarUsing Pink and a 4mm Hook

ch 90, join into ring with slst, careful not to twist.

Rnd 1: ch 2, tc in same st, tc in each ch, slst in 1st tc to join. (90tc)

Rnd 2 : ch 2, (fptc, fptc, bptc, bptc, bptc)18 times), slst into 1st fptc to join

Rnd 3 – Rnd 14 : rep rnd 3

Headchange to purple

Rnd 1 : htc in ech st, slst into 1st htc to join, TURNAlthough you are working in rounds, you have to change direction each round by turning. This stops there being an obvious texture difference when you work the mouth opening.

Rnd 2 – Rnd 4 : Repeat Rnd 1

Mouth OpeningRnd 5 : ch 2, htc in the next 60 sts TURN leave the remaining 30 sts unworkedFrom here you'll just be working on these 60sts

Top of HeadFrom here you'll be working in rounds again, but remember to turn after each round.

Rnd 12 : ch 2, work 1 htc in each ch of the 30 ch from rnd 11, 1 htc in each st, join with slst (90st)

Rnd 13 – Rnd 15 : ch 2, 1 htc in each st, join with slst, TURN

Rnd 16 : ch 2, (8 htc, htc2tog)9 times), join with slst TURN

Rnd 17 : (htc2tog, 7 htc)6 times), htc2tog, ch 7, 7 htc, htc2tog, ch 7, join with slst, TURN

Rnd 18 : ch 2, (the next sts are worked into the ch from the previous rnd) htc2tog, 6 htc, (the next sts are worked in the htcs between the two chs) htc2tog, 6 htc, htc2tog, (working into the chs again), 6 htc, (htc2tog, 6 htc)6 times), join with slst into 1st htc2tog, TURN

Rnd 19 : ch 2, (5 htc, htc2tog)9 times) join with slst TURN

Eye StalksUsing purple and 4mm hook

With the top of the head facing you join wool in the right hand corner of the eye space

ch 2, htc in same st, 5 htc, htc4tog (that's the next st, 2 sts in the end of the htc and 1 st from the next side), 7 htc, htc4tog as before, join with slst

ch 2, htc in same st, 4 htc, htc3tog (that's 1 st before the htc4tog from last rnd, the htc4tog and the st after), 4 htc, htc last 3 sts tog, join with slst

ch 2, htc in same st, 2 htc, htc2tog, 3 htc, htc2tog, join with slst

work thread around remaining opening and pull tight to close.

Embroider eyes on to eye stalks and weave in loose ends.

MouthUsing green and 4mm hook

With collar facing you, join green wool in the bottom right corner of mouth.

Ch 1, dc in same st, dc in each st all the way around mouth, join with slst

ch 2, work 1 row of htc across bottom lip, TURN

ch 2, work 1 row of htc back across bottom lip

ch 1 TURN, fold down to dc row, dc edges together : hook through st and round dc post, yrh, draw through, work dc. Work in this way all across bottom lip.

Work 1 dc in each st up side of mouth.

ch 2, work 1 row htc across top lip, TURN

ch 2, work 1 row htc back across top lip

ch 1 TURN, fold down to dc row, dc edges together : (hook through st and round dc post, yrh, draw through, work dc). Work in this way all across top lip.

Work 1 dc in each st down side of mouth, slst into bottom lip to join. Fasten off.

TeethUsing two strands of white and 4mm hookThe teeth are worked into the dc row that joined the lips.

On right hand side of bottom lip skip two dc, join in 3rd dc

ch 1, dc in same st, htc, tc, dtc, tc, htc, dc, fasten off. One tooth made

Skip 3 sts rejoin wool and repeat above row for second tooth

skip 3 sts rejoin wool and repeat above row for third tooth

Work the top teeth in the same way as the bottom teeth.

Sew in all loose ends and you're finished.
