Page 1: Eat healthier when you order takeaway

Eat Healthier When You Order Takeaway Eating out is nice but it can be pretty expensive. Eating home is cheaper but sometimes you don’t want to do all that work in order to have dinner. At the same time you may not want to go out to eat simply because you want to hang out in your home and watch movies in your pajamas. The best compromise is to order takeaways. That being said you don’t want to just eat any takeaway you can get your hands on. Let me clarify that; yes you can eat whatever you want since you’re the one eating it but isn’t it better to get and eat healthy takeaway rather than something that can hurt your body in the long run. Just because it’s healthier doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice on the taste. It’s simply a matter of just changing the food that you order from one to the other so you get less of the bad and more of the good. Take Chinese food as an example. By far Chinese takeaway is one of the more popular foods that people order out there. With its sauces and fried goodness it’s comfort food that you can have by yourself or share with your family or friends. The best part is if you can’t finish it today it will still be good tomorrow. But, because it’s fried, battered or crispy it also means that is has a lot of unhealthy calories and fat that you should rather not have inside your body. Let’s say you order battered sweet and sour pork with fried rice. Since it is battered and fried – deep fried to be exact – it carries a whopping 1,100 or so calories and about 37 grams of fat on average. A better choice would be one of the noodle dishes with vegetables and chicken. It is still a bit high in the calorie and fat count but a better option than the fried monster mentioned earlier. For a really good and healthy meal get steamed or stir fried dishes instead since they will have less calories and fat overall. If you prefer having a pizza night instead, do make it a healthy one as well. Yes, admittedly a stuffed crust all meat pizza with extra cheese is good and hearty but a healthy takeaway it is not. One slice of that equals to about 500 calories and probably 30 grams of fat. That’s enough to clog your arteries and increase your blood pressure if you’re not careful. Make it an individual sized pizza instead of the jumbo sized one. You can just order a lot more if you have family or friends over. Also, get rid of all that meat and stick with ham if you can. Better yet, get tuna or a vegetarian pizza which will be healthier but won’t skimp on the flavor – hey it still has cheese.
