Volunteers' Cream Tea (22 Apr)If you have volunteered to help with the “Church Weekend Away” you are warmly invited to share tea, coffee & cake at 3.30-5.50pm on Sat 22 April. We will be discussing the plans for the weekend and would ask you to RSVP by contacting either Carole Lewis or Jo Pamphilon.

London City Mission (26 Apr)Eastbourne Association Spring Meeting will take place at All Saints Church Hall on Wed 26th at 10.15am. Harish Patel and Terry Puttick are the speakers.

Happy Walkers (27 Apr)Their next walk will be at Ashburnham – meet in the first car park – tel 721820 for more info.

Kids Club (21 Apr) …… are in need of cardboard boxes (cereal/tissue boxes etc), toilet rolls, yoghurt pots and probably most things you would normally put in your recycling bin! This is needed for their Junk Modelling session on Friday week – so if you can bring some items in it would be very much appreciated. There will be a box in the Welcome Centre for depositing the items.

Bible by the Beach (28 Apr -1 May)Due to building works at the Congress Theatre, the Sunday evening celebration will take place in the Floral Hall , Winter Garden and capacity will be significantly reduced. Limited free tickets are available.

People Matter (29 Apr)20th Anniversary for People Matter begins with a FREE Vintage Tea here at Victoria. For catering purposes therefore please let the office know by Friday 21st April if you would like to come.

Polling Day (4 May)Volunteers needed to provide refreshments from 4pm onwards - please contact the church office ifyou can help.

PRAYER DIARY 17 – 23 APRIL

" I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation. I will sing the Lord's praise, for he has been good to me." Psalm 13: 5 - 6

Monday Pray that the Easter message has renewed and strengthened our love forChrist. As true servants, help us to carry the cross for Jesus in our daily lives.

Tuesday Pray for all the children returning to school, especially those preparing forexaminations. Help each one to do his best. Pray for all who work with children thatthey will show Christian love and care in their work.

Wednesday Pray for areas in our world where there is conflict, injustice and hunger;for citizens and families in Berlin, Stockholm and London where terrorists have causeddestruction and death to innocent lives.

Thursday As different Church activities resume this week, we pray for the leaders ofeach group. Enable them to lead with compassion and understanding.

Friday Give thanks for Emma McPhail and her mother as they prepare to move fromNewquay. Pray that appropriate accommodation will be found and that our Churchfamily will be able to ease any unforeseen circumstances.

Saturday We have so many of our Church family who are in need of prayers for theirhealth. Continue to uplift them in their time of need. Pray for Christ's healing comfortand give to them and their carers Your peace.

Sunday Praise the Lord for all His goodness and for His forgiveness when we stray.Thank Him for our freedom to worship together free of persecution or terror.Remember in prayer Christians who live in fear because of their faith in You.

Prayer Requests/Family NewsContinue to pray for the Craggs family as Sam continues his treatment.

Please pray for David & Ann Haxton as they move to Leatherhead on Tuesday, thatall will go smoothly and they will soon settle in. We thank them for their greatcontribution to the work at VBC over the past 20 years and wish them God's blessingin their new home and church.

Please pray for Steve & Sherree Francis who fly out to Nepal on Wednesday tobegin the next stage of their journey on the mission field, working with SIM. Pray forsafe travel and that they will soon adapt to a new culture, a new language and all theother new challenges that they will face.

Pray for Carol Dadswell as she stands for re-election (her 2nd term) to the CLT on25th April.

Pray for Dave Mansford who will be on the streets of Eastbourne on Friday night aspart of the town's Street Pastors team. He asks that the church “shower us in prayeron that evening”.

... to Chris & Jo Tipping on the safe arrival of Henry Thomas,born on Wednesday at 58 seconds after midnight! He weighed 8pounds, 8 ounces. Both Jo and Henry are fine despite a very longlabour ending in a caesarean section. Chris is coping well too!
