easter sunday

At the Lamb’s high feast, we sing! Praise to our victori- ous king, who has washed us in the tide, flowing from his side. Praise we him, whose love divine, gives his sacred blood for wine; Gives his body for the feast, Christ the victim, Christ the priest.

Where the Paschal blood is poured, death’s dark angel sheathes his sword; Israel’s hosts triumphant go, through the wave that drowns the foe. Praise we Christ,

whose blood was shed, Paschal victim, Paschal bread; With sincerity and love, eat we manna from above. Now no more can death appall, now no more the grave enthrall; You have opened paradise, and in you your saints shall rise. Fourth century hymn

Our entire Parish & School Staff joins together in extending to you our best wishes and all of the joy of Easter. Since Easter is fifty days long, we will have many oppor-tunities to greet you personally and to thank you for the life you bring to St. Thomas Aquinas Parish.

We extend a word of appreciation to all who made donations of, or offerings toward our Easter flowers and plants, to all those involved in our Triduum Liturgies, as well as those who decorated our church. Thanks to all who sacrificed to make our Holy Week as prayerful, enjoyable, and inviting as it has been.

We also extend a warm welcome to those who are visitors to our Parish. We are happy you chose to celebrate Easter with us. We extend an invita-tion to you to become a regular part of our Parish community. The bulletin cover lists our Mass times and phone numbers. Please call us, if we can help. Welcome, again, and a Blessed Easter to you. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Fr. Matt, Pastor

catholIc hoMe MIssIons appeal

Next week, we will take up the Catholic Home Missions Appeal. Right now, over 40 percent of dioceses in the US are considered home missions because they are unable to fund essential pastoral work needed in their communities. Your support of this appeal helps ease the struggle of these dioceses. Please prayerfully consider how you can support this appeal. More information can be found at www.usccb.org/home-missions.

GIvInG Good stewards strive to conform their lives to that of Christ---emptying themselves of all pride and putting themselves at the service of others. We encourage everyone to consider using the Sunday Offertory Envelopes or Online Giving as a way of giving to the Lord the “first fruits” of the "trea-sure" we have received.

Get ready For dIvIne Mercy sunday

On the day of the second anniversary of his pontificate, Pope Francis made the major announcement of a jubilee year dedicated to the theme of mercy, beginning on the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, Dec. 8. and concluding on the feast of Christ the King, Nov. 20, 2016.

"I am convinced that the whole Church will find in this jubilee the joy needed to rediscover and make fruitful the mercy of God, with which all of us are called to give consolation to every man and woman of our time,” Pope Francis said. “From this moment, we entrust this holy year to the Mother of Mercy, that she might turn her gaze upon us and watch over our journey.”

We will pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy at the conclusion of the 10:30am Mass at Our Lady of the Rosary on April 23.
