Today more than ever, the need to provide for the physical and mental well-being of our priests is vitally important.
The responsibili"es, pressures, and challenges facing today’s priests in the Archdiocese of Boston are drama"cally
different than they were even a decade ago. Many priests are being asked to fulfill roles beyond their sacramental
du"es at mul"ple parishes, and an increasing number of priests are reaching senior status with medical costs on the
rise. The goal of the Clergy Health and Re"rement Trust is to con"nue providing care at the current level of benefits,
now and in the future. This is made possible only through the generosity of people like you who care for your priests
and want to ensure that they remain healthy and safe, just as we would want for any of our own family members.
The 590 diocesan priests in our Archdiocese are always there for us, sharing Christ’s good news, performing good
works, and building strong communi"es of good faith. Remember priests such as Fr. Tom Buckley, Fr. Wally Blackwood,
Fr. Joe Fagan and of course, our wonderful shepherd, Fr. Paul Flammia. As Fr. Paul says: “One day, I too, will become a
re"red priest” Thank you for your prayers and generous support of our priests.

Easter Blessings—“Happy Easter”
It is such a Joy and a Gi#, to wish you all a Hear$elt Easter. We have journeyed
together through along year and a repentant Lent with Our Lord...this Spring, we enter
into a New Season of Life. How Blessed We All are! The Cross in front of our Church
no longer reminds us of His Passion and Death, but of His Resurrec!on and New Life.
This gi#, to begin new again each day, is the same gi# that we share with each other:
His uncondi!onal Love.
Our Community, comprised of two Churches: St. John the Bap!st in Essex and Sacred Heart in Manchester, is a
Community that is “Full of Life”. Each week we gather to worship and celebrate and we are blessed to
par!cipate in the Sacraments.
We want everyone to feel welcomed and comfortable in our Churches and if you have any ques!ons about this
Community, our Faith, or how you can become more connected, please let us know. We are easy to reach, by
calling 978-526-1263 or emailing: [email protected] and the contact informa!on is in the bulle!n and
on our website: www.mecatholic.org.
Join us at Mass and Hear the World of God in the Scriptures, be nourished by the Eucharist, and give thanks to
God for the Blessings that He shares with you each day. Please join us—it would be our honor to have you!
Easter Blessings, Love Fr. Paul

Happy Easter!
Don’t forget that Easter is more than just one day — it’s an en"re season of the
Church year that begins with the Easter Octave. The Gospel readings during the
Octave include some of the most beau"ful passages of scripture from the "me
a|er Jesus’ Resurrec"on and his first encounters with his friends and disciples.
These readings remind us of the importance of Jesus’ Resurrec"on and the
power of living out his message here on earth. Jesus appeared to his friends
and disciples so that they might con"nue to share the Good News in word and
deed with everyone they meet. We reflect on these readings every Easter
Octave to strengthen our own faith, and to connect with stories of Resurrec"on
and hope that can inspire how we live our lives and prac"ce our faith every
day.
