I worked from the time I was very young, I do not recall a time I did not. We picked beans in the summer after a time of picking strawberries in the spring. This money did not buy toys but school clothes for the next year. After that I worked in the tobacco patches and hay fields all throughout my early years before taking a factory job at 17. I continued to work in the fields after work until dark each day until the time I enlisted in the Army. This taught me a work ethic that I appreciate even today and made boot camp a whole lot easier. Another lesson I learned from this was to be thankful. I have been truly blessed by God in this life. In addition I was reminded at church yesterday (8.28) about how far God has brought me post can- cer. I was talking with a young lady who visited me in the hospital when I was at the lowest point in the process. She said, “I was shocked and knew that we were going to lose you.” God had different plans of course but this reminded me how far God has brought me. I am still weak and have several side effect but I am alive, able to love people and preach, Praise God. I am also reminded of how far I have come spiritually as well. I was a sinner who was hopelessly lost but God in His grace and mercy saved me. I thank God that He can reach to the bottom of humanity and touch a lost man and women by grace and set them on the road to heaven when they put their faith in Christ. What about you? This Issue

I am constantly reminded of from where I have come. First, I was raised by a single mother who was strong from the age of 12. It is a tribute to her that I turned out as well as I did. Second, I came from poverty and did not know it. In addition I was reminded at church yesterday (8.28) about how far God has brought me post can-cer. I am also reminded of how far I have come spiritually as well. about Jesus and how much He loves and helps us. We are thank-

ful for our community, the help-

ers, workers in our church and preschool. A good community ser-

vant that loves God wants to see it grow!
