Hurricane Sandy started Oct. 29, 2012 and ended less than one day later. It destroyed many houses and left many people homeless. Also, houses and buildings were out of power for weeks. It was really dangerous.

The storm took place mainly in New York City, New Jersey, and Long Island. The main problem with the hurricane was the flooding. Alex of East Harlem said, “My aunt’s house got destroyed by Sandy, and my family was so worried for my aunt.” Gary of East Harlem said, “The roof of my house fell down. What should I have done that day?” Additionally, more than 90 people died.

What are your favorite video games? Can you choose between Mario and Sonic?

I’ve played video games for about eight years now, and I continue to every day. Sonic, the speeding hedgehog, has the power to run faster than the speed of sound and the ability to become Super Sonic. However, Mario has the power to fly, use a hammer, eat a super star, and shoot fire from his hands. He has the ability to become gigantic by eating a mushroom. To me the choice is clear because he’s just better. My vote is for Mario!

An anonymous writer from w w w. K n o w l e d g e r u s h . c o m disagrees. He/she says that every character from Mario is slow and every character from Sonic is fast. He/she also says that Mario is plainly boring. So that vote goes to Sonic.

But now we’re waiting for the tiebreaker. One person from www.Businessinsider.com votes for … MARIO!!! He/she says that Mario is much more popular. He/she also says that Mario is much older, debuting in 1986. Sonic, on the other hand, debuted in 1991.

Anyway, both characters are fantastic. They even made a game together! In my opinion, both games have disadvantages. Mario is always about saving Princess Peach, and Sonic is all about running and coins. Although, there are some really cool things about both of them too! Sonic was featured in “Wreck-It Ralph,” America’s most viewed movie for three weeks in a row. Mario has a new video game for the new system Wii U, and they both have racing games! Anyway, let me know about your choice, bye.

What are shadow people? They exist around dark places. Some are really terrifying. They are paranormal.

They exist because of certain history in Native American cultures. That is also how they got their name. Some people get really scared of them.

If you saw one, you were

probably in a large dark place. It is said that they come out in huge dark places.

What they really do to a person though is briefly travel through their life. They really don’t cause harm. They’re all pitch black.

I do believe in shadow people and if some of you out there don’t, go and investigate. Also, it is unknown where they come from.

Ms. Valerie Voltaire is a teacher at Citizen Schools. Her nickname is Ms. V and her favorite thing to do is spend time with her friends and family. She grew up in Brooklyn, New York, went to college at St. Francis in Brooklyn, and still lives in Brooklyn today. Ms. V is a very cool teacher.

Ms. Voltaire is one of the favorite teachers at Isaac Newton Middle School because she understands her students.

She comes to INMS every day to help her students at Citizen Schools. She helps her students by helping them do homework and by being kind and understanding.

Ms. Voltaire decided to work at Citizen Schols in July 2012 and loves her students because they put a smile on her face. She likes the school because it gives more opportunity to students during their middle school years. The students of INMS are very happy to have Ms. V at Isaac Newton Middle School.

Sonic and Mario finally

battle it out

The earliest history of baseball is from the 1700s in Massachusettes, USA and it became a professional sport in 1866. Since then, baseball has become one of the biggest sports in America. This is how it got the nickname “America’s Favorite Pastime.”

The game is played on a field called a “baseball diamond,” which has three bases and a

home plate. Two teams play and they take turns playing offense and defense in rounds called “innings.”

The game is won by the team that scores the most runs. Soraya Sosa of Isaac Newton Middle School said, “How you play baseball is you go to the bases and you throw the ball at the person who swings and you run then you try to not get touched by the baseball.”

In the 1960s baseball became more popular because the Yankees won the World Series. This popular team added excitement to the sport, particularly in New York City.

Some famous baseball players include Derek Jeter of the New York Yankees and Babe Ruth, a lefty pitcher who played in the 1960s. Babe Ruth hit over 700 Home Runs during his time as a professional baseball player.

What is Minecraft? Minecraft is a game where you can build anything you like and craft tools and gather resources. Minecraft is a good game because you can do anything you want like build a house, a mini-game, or even your own city. My favorite part of Minecraft is that you can even play with other people. It can be played on a computer or XBox, and in some cases on a phone.

Minecraft is you can go to two worlds. They are called “The End” and “The Nether.” The Nether, which people call Hell, has a lot of fire and is the hardest part to play. The End, is where you go to beat the game. Why then, would you choose to go to the Nether? To get a block called Glowstone. Glowstone lights up the area and helps you play the game. The way to win the game is to beat a dragon called The Ender Dragon. Upon winning the game, you receive a dragon egg.

Many people make videos about Minecraft and the worlds that are created in the game. There is even a convention about it every year. It is called Mine-

con and was held this year in Paris, France. My favorite people that make videos are called Sky-doesminecraft, Captainsparklz, Ragegamingvideos, and Cave-manfilms.

I really like Minecraft and I like to play it.

Why do people go on the Internet? People go on the Internet to find out information that they want to know. We are also able to use the Internet to feel the need to help and belong somewhere in life. It is also for us to do important tasks and information and presentation so that might be the one reason that we use the Internet. The Internet is also mostly for wording and chatting with friends so that the people that use the Internet can feel together.

Instagram is a social and photo-sharing network. It was started by Kevin Systray and Miachel Knear in October 2010 and is from the company Burb Inc, the developer of Facebook.

Some peole like Instagram because they like that people can follow them and they also like it because they like putting pictures up. People also like Instagram because they can see pictures of what their friends look like and what they are doing.

Instagram is better than Facebook because it is a direct approach to photo information without all the unnecessary stuff that Facebook has.

Sleep is very important. People think that we need eight hours of sleep per night, but really research shows that we need different amounts of hours based on our individual needs. However, people aren’t getting enough. People don’t get enough sleep for a lot of reasons, but one

of the biggest problems is that people are proud of how little sleep they get.

For example, a 17-year-old didn’t sleep for 264 hours and 12 minutes. This is just unhealthy. Even students at Isaac Newton Middle School brag about how few hours they slept the night before.

There are a lot of problems

with not getting enough sleep. Some are: increased risk for car accidents, weight gain, diabetes, and depression.

In conclusion, although there is not an absolute number of hour a night that all people need to sleep, it is clear that many are not getting enough sleep and that this is very dangerous to many people.

The Miami Heat is a professional basketball team in the NBA. Started in 1988, the Heat currently plays at American Airlines Arena in Miami, Fl. The Heat also practices at American Airlines Arena, making it one of few teams in the NBA who practice at their home court. The team’s coach is Erik Spoelstra and he has been with the team since 2008. The team won its first national championship this past season in 2012. This is not the only championship the team has won. The Miami Heat also won the national championship in 2006 as well.

Coming off a national championship in 2012, Miami Heat fans are hopeful for a third title in 2013 but there have been some changes to the roster. The Miami Heat lost Mike Bibby to

the New York Knicks and Ronny Turiaf to the Washington Wizards. However, the team does still have many outstanding stars. The Miami Heat kept LeBron James, Chris Bosh, Norris Cole, Mario Chalmers, and Udonis Haslem, and gained Ray Allen from the Boston Celtics

The Miami Heat is a successful team because they practice so much. They also have some of the best players in the world, and maintain a good team dynamic, which is difficult to do with so many outstanding individuals.

Currently, the Miami Heat has a 14-6 record and is the first in its conference. If Heat fans want to see their team win a championship for the second time in a row, a few things must happen. The players need to continue practicing and working well as a team, and they need to improve their defense.
