A Note from Fr. Mike The Magi brings gifts of Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh. Tradition identifies these gifts as representative of the Kingship of Jesus, the Divinity of Jesus and the redemptive suffering of Jesus. In a way they foretell the mission of Jesus Christ as the incarnate word of God. Gold is the gift for Kings, incense is used in the worship of God and Myrrh is the fragrant oil used in burial rituals. Christ the King is the ruler of all and leads us into the fullness of His kingdom. He is the second person of our triune God, through whom the world was created and He has redeemed and saved us through his suffering, death and resurrection. All reminders of the great gift of God’s love for all of His people.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year,
Fr. Mike
Food Pantry Sunday
This Sunday is Food Pantry Sunday. Food and coupons can be placed in the barrels at the church doors. Money donations can be placed in the collection. Please just mark the envelope Food Pantry Donation. Thank you for your generosity.
Scripture Reflection January 8, 2017 The Epiphany of the Lord
“...Then they opened their treasures and offered Him gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.”.” MATTTHEW 2:11
The image of the Magi kneeling before the infant Jesus and opening their treasure chests for Him is an image we should try to follow all year long. In gratitude for all that we have been given, we are called to generously share all of our gifts, not ust the ones we pick and choose. God wants us to be the most generous with that one thing that means the most to us.

Accountability & Heartfelt Thanks
Catholic Charities received $2,419 as a result of your clothing donations from June 1st, 2016 to Nov. 30th, 2016. These funds combined with monies from parishes in a similar program enabled Catholic Charities to provide 93,598 nights of shelter to 1,226 homeless people. Thank you for enabling us to bring Christ’s love to the most vulnerable in our society. P.S. We need of novels and children’s books.
