WE are proud to announce that due to overwhelming demand we now have two
Cosmetic Physicians administering cosmetic treatments – Dr Ehsan Jadoon and
our newest member and former colleague of mine Dr Herbert Hooi.
Cosmetic Physicians are usually General Practitioners (GPs) that have been
specifically trained in a range of cosmetic procedures.
They perform non-surgical procedures such as dermal fillers, anti-wrinkle
injections, PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma), medical-grade skin needling, medium-depth
peels and use lasers and radio frequency to resurface and remodel the skin.
Some perform minimally invasive procedures, such as thread facelifts.
Dr Herbert Hooi is an Australian qualified and trained Cosmetic Physician based
in Sydney with more than eight years injecting experience.
He became interested in cosmetic procedures in 1990 and has been
performing chemical peels for more than 20 years.
Dr Hooi specialises in anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers and PRP. With an
appreciation of beauty and a keen eye for detail, he can offer his patients safe and
effective treatments with natural looking results.
In 2010, Dr Hooi was selected to become the national trainer in PRP and
Radiesse dermal fillers.
Sydney-based Cosmetic Physician Dr Ehsan Jadoon is a fully registered
Medical Practitioner in the Australia, UK and Pakistan.
Since 2009, Dr Jadoon has specialised in cosmetic medical and minimally
invasive cosmetic surgical procedures. He performs many procedures, including
sublative skin rejuvenation, thread lifts and scarless mole removal.
Dr Jadoon offers his wide variety of treatments and highly developed skills and
experience to the people of Darwin, ensuring they have access to safe and effective
cosmetic treatments with natural looking results.
Dr Hooi’s consultations are complimentary, whereas Dr Jadoon charges $100
(fee is then deducted off treatment price).
Dr Jadoon is available from February 13-15th and Dr Hooi is available on
February 26 and 27.
For a limited time we are offering great discounts on dermal filler and PRP
treatments with Dr Hooi. Go to the website or call Di on 8984 4110 for all enquiries.
WHEN it comes to having an extraordinary life – happiness, success, an amazing body, and being fit and healthy, there is a tendency for us to search for a magic pill.
And why not? Time is of the essence and most of us are busy being busy and
down time is a dime a dozen. The thing is so many of the magic pills out there simply do not
work … well maybe they work for a little while, however they are not sustainable nor realistic for ‘normal’ lifestyles filled with demands - giving, working, taking care of kids, juggling family needs, shopping, housework – let alone exercise, and cooking.
So, do I believe in a magic pill? I sure do! It’s just that the magic pill I believe in, and I know works
and creates magic, has four essential ingredients – preparation, priorities, perspiration and people.
Preparation is all about knowledge – awareness – and learning about the potential tools and strategies that will work for YOU and YOUR lifestyle for the long term, not the short term.
Prioritising is about YOU driving your own bus and knowing that you are solely responsible for organising your time, what you focus on, what you do and what you don’t do. It is your choice.
Persistence is literally doing the do. Taking action, implementing and doing what you’ve learnt as opposed to intellectualising it and saying you ‘know’ what to do (but it doesn’t actually happen).
Now this last ingredient is key. We gorgeous humans are relational beings which is why we’re called ‘human beings’. The fact is that when we are connected with like-minded and like-doing people it equates to having your very own cheer squad who support, encourage and help you hold YOU accountable to you and what you need, want and desire.
Take a moment to consider how you drive your own bus. Are you feeling happy, fulfilled and content right now? Do you love you, your body and your life? If the answer is no, I encourage you to consider and be real about which of the four ingredients may be missing from your ‘magic pill’.
TWO ears, two eyes, two arms, two legs. Relative symmetry is an important part of the human body, and for
most of us, progressive hearing loss occurs in both ears. If a hearing loss is in both ears, then logically we should treat both
ears, as treating only one has significant limitations.Hearing through two ears has many obvious advantages, including:
©izywwP~w}x~{w}}{~{w
identify the direction of sound effectively. ©[~wy{z~{w}xwy}z{P~{xwx{{wx{
to filter background noise if it has input from both sides, as it can compare and contrast sounds, assisting with focus and clarity.©[~wy{zw|zP~{{{~{w}Dcy~
like music, a far greater depth of sound perception is provided with stereo hearing, though this is compromised in mono.©Wzxwwy{P{w}{w z{z{wB{w}
only one leads to lopsidedness in sound and an unevenness in perception.©Wzx}|z{P{y~yw{yw{zxww
summation, meaning when two ears work together we hear twice as clearly as one working by itself (simple mathematics!).When we treat hearing loss therefore, clearly we must treat both
ears if both are affected, a very important consideration when using hearing aids. Without exception, it is far more advantageous to use two hearing aids of slightly lesser technology than one of highly advanced technology in order to use all incredible auditory capacity of our ears and brain effectively. Your audiologist will assess and discuss with you the specifics of your hearing loss, and in conjunction with you, map out a treatment plan to best remedy your specific hearing difficulties.
For expert audiological treatment for hearing loss, be sure you are seeing an audiologist. Only audiologists are fully university qualified to manage all types of hearing loss. Contact our Darwin or Alice Springs Clinic if you suspect a hearing loss, or know someone who has and needs treatment.

YES THERE IS A
MAGIC PILL
WHY TWO EARS ARE
BETTER THAN ONE
THE Australian Government’s Productivity Commission is taking a
15-month look at Australia’s system of civil dispute resolution. The
focus will be on constraining the costs and improving access to
the justice system.
The Commission will examine how much legal representation
costs, what the impact of those costs is and whether those costs
are in proportion to the disputed issues.
Factors that contribute to the cost of legal representation that will
be analysed include the supply of law graduates, legal professional
rules and practices, court practices and procedure and lawyers’
billing practices.
Alternative ways of resolving disputes including early
intervention measures, different models of legal aid assistance, use
of technology and faster procedures will be looked at to see if they
can help to lower costs.
The Commission will collect data from across the justice system
and this should allow better measurement and evaluation of all
of the factors. This data will also include information about the
numbers of Australians who cannot afford legal representation and
do not qualify for legal aid.
The draft report is due for release in April 2014 and the final
report is due in September 2014.
Locally, in June 2013, the Northern Territory Department of
Attorney-General and Justice released an Issues Paper, seeking
views on possible amendments to the Small Claims Act to
allow for an increase in the claim limit and the exclusion of legal
practitioners from the small claims jurisdiction except in certain
circumstances. RLA made a submission, and this can be found at
our website.
The Northern Territory Law Society recommended we wait
until the Productivity Commission has finalised its report before
introducing legislative change.
