NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 17th September, 2010

No MCI-34(41)/2810-Med729121.—in exercise of the powers--conferred by Section 33 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956(102 of 1956),the Medical Council of India with the previous sanction of the CentralGovernment hereby makes the following regulations to further amend the"Minimum Standard Requirements for 50 MBBS Admissions AnnuallyRegulations, 1999" namely:-

These regulations may be called the "Minimum Standard Requirementsfor 50 MBBS Admissions Annually Regulations (Amendment), 2010".

In the Minimum Standard Requirements for 50 MBBS AdmissionsAnnually Regulations, 1999, the following additions / modifications /deletions / substitutions, shall be further amended as under:-

In Schedule I, Clause B.1.1 under the heading 'General Remarks' asamended vide notification dated 08/07/2009, the first paragraph shall besubstituted with the following: -

"A functional teaching hospital with 300 beds having a minimum of 60%bed occupancy shall be available at the time of submission of application toMedical Council of India, at the time of inception of the hospital byMedical Council of India and upto 2" d renewal of the medical college.There shall be minimum of 75% bed occupancy at the time of inspectionfor third renewal and thereafter for subsequent renewals and recognition."

In Schedule I, Clause B.1.8, as amended vide notification dated13/11/2009, shall be substituted with the following: -

"Indoor bed occupancy – Average occupancy of indoor beds shall be aminimum of 75% per annum.

Provided that it shall be minimum of 50% at the time of inception whichshall be increased to minimum of 60% for subsequent annual renewals andrecognition for a college having annual intake of 50 students in NorthEastern States and Hill States on assessment"

5. In Schedule I, Clause B.1.9 under the heading 'Clinical Departments inthe Hospital - Requirement of beds and units' shall be substituted asunder: -

"The number of beds required for 50 admissions annually are 300 andtheir distribution shall be as under: -

"2. Assoc. Prof.

3. Asstt. Prof. 11,

7(i). In Schedule II, under the heading 'C. DEPARTMENTWISE STAFFREQUIREMENTS - CLINICAL DEPARTMENTS' at SI. No. (8) underthe heading 'DEPARTMENT OF OBSTETRICS ANDGYNAECOLOGY', the Staff strength required against the post ofAssistant Professor shall be substituted with '3' instead of '2'.

(ii). In Schedule II, under the heading 'C. DEPARTMENTWISE STAFFREQUIREMENTS - CLINICAL DEPARTMENTS' at SI. No. (9) underthe heading 'DEPARTMENT OF RADIO-DIAGNOSIS', the Staff

NOTIFICATION


No. MCI-34(41)/2010-Med./29127.--In exercise of the powersconferred by Section 33 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956(102 of 1956),the Medical Council of India with the previous sanction of the CentralGovernment hereby makes the following regulations to further amend the"Minimum Standard Requirements for 150 MBBS Admissions AnnuallyRegulations, 1999" namely:-

These regulations may be called the "Minimum Standard Requirementsfor 150 MBBS Admissions Annually Regulations (Amendment), 2010".



"A functional teaching hospital with 300 beds having a minimum of 60%indoor bed occupancy shall be available at the time of submission ofapplication to Medical Council of India, at the time of inception of thehospital by Medical Council of India and upto 2nd renewal of the medicalcollege. There shall be minimum of 75% bed occupancy at the time ofinspection for third renewal and thereafter for subsequent renewals andrecognition."

In Schedule I, Clause B.1.8, as amended vide Notification dated13.11.2009, shall be substituted with the following: -

"Indoor bed occupancy — Average occupancy of indoor beds shall be aminimum of 75% per annum."


"The number of beds required for 150 admissions annually are 700.They may be distributed for the purposes of clinical teaching as undernamely: -

No. MCI-34(41)/2010-Med./29127.--In exercise of the powersconferred by Section 33 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956(102 of 1956),the Medical Council of India with the previous sanction of the CentralGovernment hereby makes the following regulations viz. -Minimum StandardRequirements for 250 M.B.B.S. Admissions Annually Regulations, 2010":-

(i) These regulations may be called "Minimum StandardRequirements for 250 M.B.B.S. Admissions AnnuallyRegulations (Amendment), 2010".

(ii) They shall come into force from the date of their publication inthe Official Gazette.

In the Minimum Standard Requirements for 250 M.B.B.S. AdmissionsAnnually Regulations, 2010, the following additions / modifications /

deletions / substitutions, shall be as indicated therein:-

In Schedule I, Clause B.1.1 under the heading 'GENERALREMARKS', the first paragraph shall be substituted with thefollowing: -

"A functional teaching hospital with 750 beds having a minimum of 60%indoor bed occupancy shall be available at the time of submission ofapplication to Medical Council of India, at the time of inception of thehospital by Medical Council of India and upto 2"d renewal of the medicalcollege. There shall be minimum of 75% bed occupancy at the time ofinspection for third renewal and thereafter for subsequent renewals andrecognition."

In Schedule I, Clause B.1.8 shall be substituted with the following: -

"Indoor bed occupancy - Average occupancy of indoor beds shall be aminimum of 75% per annum."

(ii) They shall come into force from the date of their publication in theOfficial Gazette.

In "The Opening of a New or Higher Course of Study or Training(including Postgraduate Course of Study or Training) and increase ofAdmission Capacity in any Course of Study or Training (including aPostgraduate course of Study or Training) Regulations. 2000", the followingadditions/modifications/deletions/substitutions shall be as indicated therein:-

In Part II under the heading "Scheme for permission of the CentralGovt. to increase the admission capacity in any course of study or training(including postgraduate course of study or training) in the existing medicalcollege/institutions", clause 6 as amended vide notification dated 9.12.2009shall be substituted as under:-

"6. The maximum number of admissions in MBBS course shall notexceed 250 annually provided that the eligibility criteria for fixing upperceiling of annual intake to 200/250 admissions annually shall be asunder:-

(a) For annual intake capacity of 200

Number of teaching beds not less than 900 with standing of notless than 10 years.OPD strength per day not less than 2000Bed occupancy : Average not less than 75%The hospital must be unitary.
