Plans, sections and elevations were regenerated from scanned images (1.3) as a first step in the digital revival of this building by Charles and Ray Eames. Functioning as both a home and studio, it is aimed to-wards artistic couples who wish to fuse their career and domestic lives seamlessly , providing the com-fort as well as essential convenience sought after in such a program.

The pre-fabricated nature of this house becomes the main premise of investigation for my project as a whole. Initially built as a case study house with efficiency and convenience in mind, it was designed as a new approach to modernist architecture, typically American in its awareness to site context and nature.

Essentially American in its sensitivity to nature, the Eames house was built with the intention of preserving the eucalyptus meadow that be-comes the backdrop to this building. The pre-fabricated nature of this house deems it flexible in terms of the programs that it can possibly host.

Entirely fantastical, the possibilities of the Eames house as-suming very different conditions from real-ity are explored and expressed through renderings and hypo-thetical motion from the exterior into the interior realm.
