TRANSCRIPT
Traditionally, the challenge across many manufacturing environments
has been a lack of visibility to data stored in varying places that contain
valuable information about the potential risks surrounding production
assets. By having a single, visual presentation of enterprise-wide asset
data, users can easily take a more proactive role in managing asset
performance.
Having access to the data for meaningful analysis will allow companies to develop asset strategies, monitor performance, make recommendations to improve existing strategies, and then reevaluate the effectiveness of those strategies in order to continuously improve performance. The key is available data, the analysis of that data, and using the results to incorporate asset strategies that achieve corporate objectives.
Meridium and IBM Maximo Integration
Many companies have implemented IBM Maximo® to manage their plant maintenance programs, but do not have the tools in place to develop, manage and evaluate the effectiveness of their asset strategies.
This is where the benefits of integrating IBM Maximo and Meridium emerge. Integrating data from the two sources (as well as other enterprise data) provides decision-makers with a risk-based Asset Performance Management (APM) solution capable of achieving corporate production targets with existing equipment.
The IBM Maximo Interface provides the following capabilities:
• Location/Assetextraction• WorkOrderextraction• ServiceRequest/WorkOrdercreation
Location/Asset Extraction
Most companies that utilize IBM Maximo have invested in implementingawell-definedLocationandAssetstructuretosupportthe management and execution of maintenance. The Location/Asset extraction interfaces allow Meridium users to leverage that information when developing, managing and evaluating strategies in the Meridium APM system.
Work Order Extraction
WorkordersinIBMMaximoensurethatworkisefficientlyplanned, scheduled, executed and documented. This data can prove to be a valuable source of knowledge when combined with other data such as production, process, inspection, calibration and other data sources.
Whether used for evaluating the effectiveness of existing strategiesthrough metrics and KPIs or providing the historical data to support statistical analysis, this data enables Meridium APM users to improve the performance of their assets. The work order extraction interface also organizes the data in order to streamline the analysis.
Service Request/Work Order Creation
Whendevelopinganewstrategy, capturingdetailedfindingsfromtheexecution of a strategy or simply evaluating the effectiveness of an existing strategy, the Meridium APM system allows users to create and track recommendations. In many cases, these recommendations may require that work be planned and scheduled in Maximo. Seeing and Evaluating the Impact of Asset Strategies
Meridium enhances the value of the data being collected in Maximo and other enterprise systems. Industry norms indicate that the potential uptime gain from improvements in asset performance when implementing a best-in-class APM program is worth five times the cost of maintenance. In most organizations, the data is there, and
the workflow to collect the data may also be in place in some form or fashion. But, the real value of an integrated APM program lies in the ability to see the impact of asset strategies and evaluate the performance of existing systems.
Without access to the data, however, there is no visibility to theinformation and therefore no value. The Meridium IBM Maximo Interface brings the valuable information already being gathered in Maximo and other execution systems into a single framework for meaningful analysis to drive business decisions and help build asset strategies in line with corporate objectives.
Industry norms indicate that the potential uptime gain from improvements in reliability when implementing a best-in-class APM program is worth five times the cost of maintenance.
EAM Integration: Meridium and IBM Maximo
Meridium is the global leader in asset performance management software and services for asset-intensive industries. Meridium lowers the risk of harm to people, our planet and profits by predicting and preventing physical asset failures. With Meridium’s unique enterprise analytics, our clients minimize production downtime while improving safety.
The Meridium APM Foundation Work Process and enabling software are a prerequisite to all other work processes. It includes all of the elements for a successful APM initiative and the framework for a living strategy, including using your existing data and structures from other systems. A core work process of the Meridium solution, APM Foundation provides the value of integrated performance data in the right context to identify opportunities for improvement and focus improvement efforts.
Integrating data from Meridium, IBM Maximo and other sources provides decision-makers with a complete risk-based APM solution for achieving corporate production targets with existing equipment.
