One day not long ago, something happened that we

ourselves cannot see with our own eyes, and this is how it starts.

Once upon a time there was an artichoke and a crème brulee and

they didn’t like each other because children liked desserts much

better than veggies, and the veggies were sad because they just

wanted to be liked. Eventually, it went so far that war started,

much to the disappointment of Admiral Pear, who liked living in

peace. Then they started teams, and all the veggies were on

Artichoke’s team and all the desserts, like Jolly Rancher were on

Crème Brulee’s team, and last, all the fruits were on Admiral Pear’s

team, and they were the peace keepers.

The war got very brutal!!! The jelly beans acted like cannon

balls for the dessert team and the peas were cannon balls for the

veggies team. “We can’t go on like this!” wailed Lemon Meringue

Pie. “Oh, but we must! Do you want to be hated by children?” said

Admiral Crème Brulee. They each had their own forts, they split the

pantry and the refrigerator in half.

The war went on for a while, almost a year! Until Lime

Jellybean followed Apple Pie and found out she was meeting with

Corn! Of all foods it had to be Corn! Lime Jellybean went back to

Admiral Crème Brulee and told him, “Preposterous-what are we

going to do now?” said Admiral Crème Brulee. The same thing

happened when small John Pea followed Corn and told Admiral

Artichoke. They finally declared a truce and they made things that

any child would love.
