3.1 Proposal Review Process

• Proposal 審査　－　採択確定– Proposal Handling Team （ JAO ２名、各

3.4 Phase 2 Support 体制

• 採択確定－観測実行– EA （ PI) の採択プログラム（ Project ）毎に、担当 ARC Astronomer/Scientist をアサイン。（少なくとも ES 期）

– Scheduling Block （ SB) 作成を支援。– SB 投稿後は、 ARC担当者が JAO側観測実行チームとのインターフェース。

– Scheduling Block （ SB) の修正やトラブルの場合の対応を PI を支援して実施。（観測モニター用ツール Project Tracker を使用）。




• 最初の ES に関しては、 SB 作成は ARCと共同で行うことを想定（推奨）します。より密な問題対応のために出来るだけFace to Face でお願いします。

• Project Tracker などで status をこまめにチェックしてください。その際、問題があれば ARC へ積極的に連絡してください。

4.4 Quality Control (QA) Contents

4.4.1 Definition

• JAO は、最終的（ Full Operation まで）には“ delivering data obtained under user specified atmospheric conditions and within normal end-to-end system performance ranges” に責任を持つ。–これを可能にするために、 JAO は、システム性能を、短期・長期にモニターして問題があれば、修正して観測を実行する。

– QA 情報は、 QA システム（ツール）を使って、 quick-look pipeline から生成されたログを元に、 On-site で生成され、アーカイブに保存される。



4.4.1 Definition (cont.)

• 具体的には、次に示す、 QA0-3 の４段階のプログラムからなる。– QA0 ：観測実行時にリアルタイムでシステムが正常動

作しているかどうかチェック– QA1 ：いくつかのパラメータで実行した観測 uv データ

から標準的なシステム性能が実現されているかどうかを定期的に確認。

– QA2 ：観測データからイメージを合成し、結果を観測要求に照らしてレビューして、必要なら再観測・再解析を実施。

– QA3 ：イメージ解析の際にユーザーから提起される問題を ARC から JAO へフィードバック。



4.4.2 Status at ES

• ES の最初に関しては、 QA0- ２が、（観測精度・感度の保証ではなく、）限られた時間での観測実行、で終わる可能性があり。

• ユーザーが解析時にシステムの不具合が発覚する可能性もあり、 QA3 でのレポート体制をきちんと確立しておく必要がある。



4.4.3 QA3

• QA３（イメージ解析の際にユーザーから提起される問題を ARC から JAO へフィードバック）– Detailed examination of images delivered by ALMA to end-users

or images produced by users using ALMA-provided off-line data processing tools.

– QA3 involves user-reported issues with image quality.– Defect detection at this stage will be done by users. It should be

reported to local ARC data analysis support staff. Some of these problems will reflect issues with the Array performance, the calibration process, or pipeline processing that should be documented and reported back to the JAO.

– The ARC staff will then attempt to verify the problem to determine if they do indeed reflect observatory performance issues. If verified, the problem is reported to Joint ALMA Observatory for investigation and resolution.
