The 36th Annual ETSPM lectures began with Sam Bartrug’s Sunday morning lesson, “Things That Change and Things That Don’t,” and ended with Tom Holland’s Wednesday night message, “The Ancient Faith Takes Me Home.” This year’s series of thirty-seven lectures included:

• Five women’s sessions presented by Teresa Hampton, Irene Taylor, Jane Washington, Janie Craun, and Evelyn Apple

• A series by Clarence Deloach on The New Tolerance, The New Spirituality, and The New Morality

• William Woodson’s three lessons on Confronting Challenges to The Ancient Faith

• Tom Miller’s two lessons on 1 John

• A special series by Jerry Jenkins, on what we can learn from the great work the Roebuck Parkway congreg-ation in Birmingham has been doing for the last 40+ years

• Breakout classes on the Sermon on the Mount by Clancy Etienne, Lonnie Smith and Jerry Carmichael.

Attendance ran a bit higher than last year, with more than 400 on Sunday morning and 379 at Tom’s closing lesson. Attendance figures jump even more dramatically, however, with the addition of our virtual audience.

For the first time ever, ETSPM streamed the lectures live through the school’s website. A total of 323 users

logged on and watched the lectures for 26,296 minutes or a little more than 438 hours. The average time each viewer watched the lectures exceeded eighty minutes.

We hope you will join us next year for the 37th Annual ETSPM lectures as we study “Strengthening The Souls Of The Disciples.”

FROM THE DIRECTOR Wanted: A Few Good MenRod Rutherford, long-time

missionary and instructor for ETSPM, likes to say the Marines have the right slogan for our school; we want “A Few Good Men.” When I question him further, he tells me it is important that the men who come here to study are dedicated servants of God with a deep desire to further the cause of the kingdom.

Are you the type of man Rod describes? Do you know of a man who has a love for God's word and the souls of men? We have an outstanding faculty with a similar love,

deep knowledge of the Bible and years of experience. ETSPM has a reputation for being Biblically strong and balanced. Our grad-uates are known for building up the Lord's church.

The world needs more men of God. If you are ready to learn, we are ready to teach you.

Simply go to www.etspm.org and click on “Apply” in the navigation bar. You can apply on line and your references can fill out their forms on line as well. A new class will be starting in August. It is time for “A Few Good Men” to join the fight.

ALUMNI NEWSAt their annual meeting during the lectureship,

ETSPM alumni selected new officers. Lonnie Jones is the new president and Peter Wesson is the new vice president. I am looking forward to working with them to allow ETSPM to be of increasing assistance to our graduates. Our first meeting together is scheduled for April.

At the alumni meeting, I spoke briefly to the group. I wanted to let them know about our commitment to “be there” for all our past students. I asked them as I now ask you: Please tell us what we might do to assist you in your work and Christian life.

What would be helpful to you? Should we make these things available as part of the lecture program or would the next day (Thursday) be better? Perhaps a special time apart from the lectureship might be more advantageous? What might we do via our web page and its links? Please share your ideas with us.

At etspm.org, we are already providing a variety of helpful interactions.

• We streamed the lectureship live on the web for those who could not attend.

• You can now direct prospective students to our online application process.

• We are recording ETSPM Bible classes, soon to be available online.

The Lord willing, we will continue to develop means that will enable us to keep in touch and assist you more effectively.

We do need your help. Prayers, prospective students, and increased contributions are all part of what we need you to do in growing our partnership.

Soon we will ask each alumnus to help increase the contribution of the congregation you attend by $40. (This can be any combination between you, other individuals and your congregation.) We are going to help you regard-less, no strings attached.

Reaching out to you and operating the school do, however, require funding. We will let you know more about how you can help.

Challenging times lie ahead. With God’s help we are confident we will rise to greater levels of service to God. We exist to bring Him honor. Together we can do much!

—Edwin Jones
