and with matching funds by Supreme Council, two 4D ultrasound machines were purchased, according to ENLC development director Debbie Nieport.

The machines will be used at the ENLC Kettering center (directly across the street from a late term abortion clinic) and the ENLC East Dayton center.

Eight Dayton area Knights of Columbus councils raised more than $59,000 to fund purchase of new 4-D ultrasound machines for the Elizabeth New Life Centers. Pictured here are representatives of the eight councils that participated as well as ENLC representatives and Bishop Joseph Binzer, who blessed the machine at the Kettering facility.

A contingent from the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, including Archbishop Dennis M. Schnurr, archdiocesan staff members, representatives from St. Margaret of York Parish, and area high school students will travel to Tegucigalpa, Honduras, Jan. 31-Feb. 5.

The trip will be led by Mike Gable, director of the archdiocesan Mission Office, who helped St. Margaret of York Parish establish a twinning relationship with two Honduran parishes. The faith communities are served by Fathers Ricardo Flores and Jonathan Funes, who studied at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary. Through Cardinal Oscar Rodriguez of Tegucigalpa, Honduras, and retired Archbishop Daniel E. Pilarczyk, the seminary has had

student exchanges with the Tegucigalpa seminary for more than 10 years.

The journey will include meetings with parish twinning partners and the opportunity to share about the Year of Faith, a tour of Tegucigalpa, and visits to various local outreach ministries, such as an AIDS hospital. While there, the visitors will also join in the celebration of the national feast of Our Lady of Suyapa, the patron saint of Honduras, on Feb. 3. The figure is a small sculpture of the Virgin Mary, made of cedar and only six and half inches tall. The statue was discovered by a young boy in February 1747 and is known to have miraculous powers.

Sr. Eileen Connelly of The Catholic Telegraph is with the group and will file reports during the mission.
